The New Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy Automatic Series
A tribute to Maurice Lacroix’s 50-year journey, combining practical elegance with a strong sense of place.

2025 is a celebratory year across the watch industry, with many brands marking anniversaries tied to their founding or the debut of important collections. Among them is Maurice Lacroix, which commemorates its 50th anniversary with the launch of the 1975 Legacy collection, a trio of refined, limited-edition timepieces that blend regional inspiration, contemporary design, and a heritage-driven vibe, following the all-new, elegant Maurice Lacroix 1975 Collection. Rooted in the brand’s hometown of Saignelégier, these watches pay tribute to the natural beauty of the Franches-Montagnes: rolling hills, misty dawns, and evergreen forests are all evoked through textured dials and rich colour palettes
The new Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy series includes time-and-date, day-date, and GMT models, each equipped with automatic movements and finished to a standard typically seen in Maurice Lacroix’s higher-end Masterpiece line. Proudly made in Saignelégier, the 1975 Legacy watches represent the brand’s continued commitment to quality, value, and local character.
1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue
This time-and-date model, based on already existing versions here, comes with an archival blue dial and signature Vagues du Jura guilloché motif, a textured representation of the surrounding Jura hills. The rich, sunlit tone of the blue, revived from the brand’s past, is both elegant and dynamic.
Time is displayed via rhodium-plated dauphine hands and faceted trapezoidal indices, while the date window at 3 o’clock features a colour-matched blue disc. The 40mm stainless steel case is 9mm thick and houses the ML155 calibre, a slim Sellita-based automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve. Visible through a sapphire caseback, the movement features perlage, colimaçon, and a rotor engraved with the same Jura wave motif. The watch is offered on a matching blue leather strap with the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange system. It is priced at CHF 1,400 and limited to 888 pieces.

1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green
Taking inspiration from the fir trees that populate the Jura region, this version features a forest-green dial with the Vagues du Jura motif. In addition to the date at 3 o’clock, the watch features a day display at 12 o’clock, which is framed and balanced with the dial.
Housed in the same 40mm stainless steel case as the regular models, the Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy Day Date is slightly thicker at 10mm and powered by the ML168 automatic movement (Sellita SW240-1 base), offering a 38-hour power reserve. The caseback is solid, engraved with a Jura landscape scene featuring horses, and inscribed with its limited edition number. A 5-row stainless steel bracelet, featuring brushed and polished links, completes the look. It is priced at CHF 1,690 and limited to 500 pieces.

1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist
The most functionally sophisticated model in the Maurice Lacroix 1975 Legacy trio, the GMT Silver Mist draws visual inspiration from the Jura hills at dawn, wrapped in early morning fog. The silver-toned dial, again with the Vagues du Jura motif, is paired with gold-tone dauphine hands, markers, and logo for an elevated, warmer look.
A red-tipped, openworked GMT hand displays a second time zone, powered by the ML165 automatic calibre (Sellita SW330) with a 56-hour power reserve. The 40mm case is 10mm thick and fitted with a solid caseback engraved with the same rural scene as the Day-Date. It comes on a black alligator-style leather strap and features the Easy Strap Exchange system for quick swaps. It is priced at CHF 1,990 and limited to 200 pieces.

I think the 1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue is based on SW300 not SW200.
@sinan yilmaz – you’re absolutely right. Now corrected.
