| By Frank Geelen | 2 min read |

Ladoire introduces Mr.Green in the new Black Widow collection. Mr. Green is limited to 12 pieces and features the typical Ladoire regulator style time display.

After a intriguing advertisement campaign, Ladoire introduces a new collection called Black Widow and the newest watch Mr.Green. Last week we already showed you photos of the magnificent designed bridges and main plate. This newest creation of Lionel Ladoire is slimmer and smaller than the Ladoire RGT. The case measures 41.8mm by 50.8mm and features a cool looking single lug construction!

Typical for Ladoire is the regulator time display with an open-worked dial revealing the movement. Three regulator-style offset Hours, Minutes and Seconds zones with the patented display complication (HMS Planetary®) mounted on a ceramic micro ball bearings.

The central hour hand can be adjusted via a fast- action pusher at 2 o’clock, making it easy to adjust the time zone when traveling. The ‘home time’ indicator is positioned between the 6 and 7 o’clock position and the minutes are displayed between the 5 and 6 o’clock position. The seconds indicator is displayed at the 3 position.

The bezel, middle case and case-back are made of titanium with a A-DLC black coating. The crown, also A-DLC coated, is ergonomically positioned at the 8 o’clock position. The pusher to chance adjust the centre hour hand, positioned at the 2 o’clock position, is also A-DLC coated. Both sapphire crystals (front and back) have an anti reflective coating and Mr Green is water-resistant to 50 meters.

Ladoire developed a new movement for the Black Widow collection and this new caliber Calvet/02 is first used in Mr Green. By the way, Calvet stands for Calibre of Helvet Mecanique. The movement with automatic winding features a micro rotor and has 38 jewels. It has a green W-shaped GMT bridge structure, balance with adjustment screws, which is black PVD-coated and ticks with a frequency of 18,800 vph (2.5 Hz). The power reserve is 52 hours.

Maybe this sounds strange… but Mr Green can be bought. At least the watch called Mr Green can be bought for 68,800 CHF (ex.VAT) which is around 55,000 euro or 71,000 USD at the current exchange rate. And that’s a very nice price!
