IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Petit Prince in platinum

Just last month we introduced two new Pilot Watches from IWC to you, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar “Le Petit Prince” and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince”. After an already staggering auction result earlier today, now IWC can announce a most impressive auction result. A unique version in platinum of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar “Le Petit Prince” just sold for 173,000 Swiss Francs.

This unique execution of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” in platinum comes with a midnight blue dial. It has one of the coolest moon phase indications ever, period. Who wouldn’t love a watch with a moon phase featuring the little price standing on his little moon.

The unique watch was auctioned together with a limited reissue of the English first edition of “The Little Prince” and a reproduction of the original French manuscript. The full proceeds of CHF 173,000 will be used to finance the construction of a new school building with integrated library in the province of Siem Reap, Cambodia. The work is already in progress, as the following photo shows. The Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation and IWC together fight against illiteracy.
