Zenith continues to honour its heritage with modern craftsmanship and thoughtful authenticity.
For LVMH Watch Week 2026, Zenith persists in its journey through the archives with the introduction of the Defy Revival A3643, a faithful recreation of one of the earliest Defy references from 1969. Following the Defy Revival A3642 from 2022 and the A3691 and A3690 evolutions that brought bold colour and character to the line, the new A3643 revisits the original model, distinguished by its refined silver-toned dial and signature octagonal case and 14-sided bezel.
The new Defy Revival A3643 remains faithful to the spirit of the original. Its 37mm stainless steel case, reconstructed using original production blueprints, retains the sharp angles, brushed and polished surfaces, and the solid, compact proportions of the 1969 model. Water resistance is rated 300m, proof of the toughness of the Defy concept. The screw-down crown and faceted case speak of vintage accuracy and modern reliability.
The silver sunray dial was recreated using a 3D scan of a vintage watch and keeps the restrained look of the original. The applied hour markers are made with a two-tier structure, a satin-brushed upper surface over glossy black-lacquered recesses. The faceted hands and luminous blocks ensure readability; the orange-tipped seconds hand injects a vivid accent. The date window is positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock, as on the historical model.
Just as the earlier A3642, A3691 and A3690 Defy Revival models, the new A3643 is powered by the Elite 670 automatic. Developed in-house, this ultra-thin movement runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour and provides a 50-hour power reserve. The calibre is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback, which replaces the solid steel back of the 1969 original. Movement finishing includes Côtes de Genève decoration and the openworked Zenith star-shaped rotor.
The watch is worn on the stainless steel ladder-style bracelet, recreated from the original 1969 design by Gay Frères. The Zenith Defy Revival A3643 is part of the permanent collection, priced at CHF 6,900 / EUR 7,900 / USD 7,800, and available through Zenith boutiques, authorised retailers, and online.
