By Popular Choice… The new Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver “Fan-Selected” HBC011
Following last year's voting campaing, the fans have talked and selected this "Daytime Blue" version.
Last year marked the 60th anniversary of the first-ever dive watch created by Seiko, the now-emblematic 62MAS model. Still a great source of inspiration for the brand, its clean and purposeful design has been modernised to be the basis for the creation of the contemporary yet retro-inspired Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver 300m. Last year, the brand launched a rather cool project, where it gave fans a chance to choose what its upcoming 2026 Prospex 1965 Diver limited edition should look like… And the most-voted-for design was the one inspired by the seascape illuminated by daytime sunlight, a watch built around a new “Daytime Blue” colour, resulting in this new Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver Watch Fan-Selected Limited Edition HBC011.
As a quick reminder, Seiko held a competition in which its fans selected a new Prospex diver’s watch design through a global voting campaign held online and in person. Running from July 1st to 31st, 2025, the campaign engaged Prospex’s global enthusiast community to choose between 4 different colour schemes applied to the recent evolution of the 62MAS-inspired Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver Watch. The four variants were all inspired by the ever-shifting colours of the sea and the flow of time from sunrise to sunset, expressing one of four seascape scenes at a different time of day – sunrise orange, daytime blue, late afternoon green, and sunset red.
Hardly a surprise, the most-voted-for design was possibly the most conservative of them all, the “Daytime Blue edition” with its turquoise dial and bezel. The result is now officially revealed and gives birth to a new limited edition watch, the reference HBC011, sharing the same specifications as the permanent series (SPB451, SPB453 & SPB455) and a wave-patterned dial that’s identical to the SPB511 Limited Edition.
As such, we’re looking at a fairly compact and retro-styled dive watch measuring 40mm in diameter and 13mm in thickness, entirely made of hard-coated stainless steel (case and bracelet), with a Daytime blue bezel metal insert, a sapphire crystal on top, a screw-down crown and solid steel back, and a comfortable 300m water resistance. The dial, with its embossed wave pattern and luminous markers, is classic for the brand, only adorned with this new and vibrant blue colour. The bracelet is equipped with the recently launched slide adjuster, allowing for a quick extension at the clasp. And inside is the 3-day power reserve in-house, automatic calibre 6R55.
Released as a limited edition of 4,500 pieces, available from October 2026 worldwide, the Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver Watch Fan-Selected Limited Edition HBC011 will be priced at EUR 1,550. For more details, please visit seikowatches.com.
