The New Patek Philippe Cubitus 7128 in 40mm Gold Cases
The much-discussed Cubitus series gets a smaller case while adding full-gold references.

The new Cubitus collection of sporty-chic watches by Patek Philippe was the most anticipated launch of last year but also the most discussed and commented new release of 2024. Initially released in steel, steel and gold two-tone 45mm by 8.3mm case as Cubitus 5821 time and date reference on a matching metal bracelet and as 5822P with moon phase, instantaneous day of the week and instantaneous big date on a navy blue strap sharing the same dimensions of 45mm across, the time and date model is now presented in a midsize version encased in white or rose gold. Meet the new 40mm Cubitus 7128.
The new Patek Philippe Cubitus 7128 is a smaller version of the inaugural time and date reference 5821, introducing new case and bracelet materials to the collection. Available in white gold and rose gold as 7128/1G and 7128/1R respectively, both cases measure 40mm across from 10 to 4 o’clock and 8.5mm thick, with a 30m water resistance. The case is of the same two-part construction, square-shaped with rounded edges and distinguishing side elements, boasting a mix of polished and satin-finished surfaces for contrast. The screw-down crown is tucked in; the caseback features a sapphire crystal to view the movement.
With this new reference, Patek Philippe adds the blue-grey and brown dial colours to the series, which will be featured in white gold and rose gold variants, respectively. The dial design remains, with the sunburst finish and embossed horizontal lines, featuring baton-style hour indices and hands in white or rose gold, coated with luminescent material. On both versions, the date window at 3 o’clock shows a white disc with black indications.
For movement, the new Cubitus 7128 employs the self-winding calibre 26-330 S C with a central rotor in 21k gold, operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivering a max of 45 hours of power reserve. The same movement with Gyromax balance and Spiromax hairspring is used to power the inaugural 45mm references and other watches in the brand’s catalogue.
The integrated bracelet in either white or rose gold exhibits vertical satin-brushed on the main links and a polished finish on the central links, with a polished bevel on the sides. It retains the comfort extension and the fold-over clasp with four independent catches, but there’s still no quick-change system to switch to a strap. The new Cubitus 7128 is priced at EUR 76,000 for both white and rose gold versions. For more details, please visit patek.com.
