The Kudoke 3 Nocturne, Alongside a New Dial and Decor Option for the Kaliber 1
Handsomely dark, handcrafted, and original, the Nocturne is exemplary monochrome.
German indie watchmaker Stefan Kudoke expands the HANDwerk collection with the Kudoke 3 Nocturne, keeping the core concept intact but changing its expression, much like the Nocturne edition of the Kudoke 2. This new variant builds on the Kudoke 3, previously available in various executions, including Sky Blue, salmon, and the Flakes edition with the hand-engraved upper dial. The Nocturne introduces a darker, more introspective aesthetic paired with the distinctive engraving technique applied to the movement, and a new finish for the series case.
The Kudoke 3 Nocturne is the only version of the model currently offered in matte sandblasted stainless steel. The treatment reduces reflections and gives the 39mm case a calm presence that complements the dial’s darker tones. For now, this finish is reserved solely for the Nocturne. The onion crown remains, and water resistance is 50m.
The Kudoke 3’s unconventional time display remains intact. Minutes are read conventionally on the upper dial ring, while hours are indicated on a lower, three-part scale. A three-arm hour hand moves between the two dial levels, switching pointers as it progresses. At certain moments (at 2, 6 and 10 o’clock), two arms appear simultaneously in a playful twist.
The Nocturne’s appearance and atmosphere are new, though. The galvanic black upper dial sits above a frosted base dial and elements treated with black gold. Printing is executed in silver instead of white. Polished steel hands replace the blued hands of the standard versions, maintaining a monochromatic look. This dark dial is not exclusive to the Nocturne and is now offered as a regular option for the Kudoke 3.
Powering the watch is the familiar Kaliber 1, a hand-wound calibre (28,800 vibrations/hour with a 46-hour power reserve) developed with Habring² and finished in-house. The limited Nocturne edition features a rhodium-plated movement with the “Flakes” engraving. Instead of floral motifs, the Flakes engraving is created by gradually cutting tiny fragments from the bridge surface, producing a finely structured, shimmering texture. This finish is now available as an option across the HANDwerk range at an extra cost of EUR 2,990 excl. VAT.
Also note the hand-engraved balance cock with Kudoke’s infinity symbol, the plaque with the limited edition mention, and traditional finishing throughout, all visible through the sapphire caseback. The watch is worn on a suede leather strap closed with a matte sandblasted stainless steel pin buckle. The Kudoke 3 Nocturne is a limited edition of 20 pieces, priced at EUR 12,574 excl. VAT.
