The New Jacob & Co. Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon
Here comes the remedy for those who consider three-axis tourbillons insufficient.

Jacob & Co. this year celebrates 10 years since the launch of the Astronomia collection, which comprises some of the craziest, oversized and overjewelled (like in diamonds), overperforming creations that are also mechanically complex and provide the owner, apart from other pleasures, with a true dance of arms, sub-dials and rotating stones… And, of course, tourbillons. Either a lot of them or one that rotates in all directions. And with that, Jacob & Co. builds upon the foundation laid in 2023 with the first and ultra-fast Astronomia Revolution and presents the new Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon… Because three were not enough.
The new Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon retains Jacob & Co.’s bold design, featuring a massive 47mm rose gold case, 27mm thick, with a highly domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Sapphire windows around the case offer multiple angles from which to admire the intricate movement. As is tradition for the Astronomia line, there’s no crown – instead, the watch is wound and set via two flip-up keys on the caseback.
Dial-side, the backplate mirrors the design of its predecessor, with rose gold honeycomb panels, each meticulously mirror-polished and precisely angled. One notable difference from the previous Astronomia Revolution is the absence of the steel arrow-shaped hand with a synthetic ruby. Is Jacob streamlining a watch? Wait, this isn’t the end of the story.
At the heart of this crazy Astronomia Revolution, the carousel carrying the tourbillon and time display completes a full rotation every 60 seconds, an impressive leap from the 20-minute rotation of the original 2015 Astronomia. This feat is made possible by a one-sixth-of-a-second constant-force mechanism and a differential for the time display. Positioned atop the rotating carousel, a triple-axis flying tourbillon now adds a fourth axis to the ballet, with its movements cycling through 60 seconds (main plate), 18 seconds, 15 seconds, and 60 seconds, respectively. The video above is worth watching…
The skeletonized time dial, crafted from red polycarbonate, features applied indices and rose gold dauphine hands. The watch is paired with a red alligator leather strap. Limited to 18 pieces, the Astronomia Revolution Four-Axis Tourbillon is priced at USD 700,000 – a 100k increase from the previous triple-axis model. So now you know the cost of adding an extra axis.
