IWC Warms Up for the 2025 F1 Season with a New Pilot Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Team
The classic Petronas green colour applied to a titanium 3-hand Mark XX.
It’s only January, and yet the upcoming 2025 Formula One season is already in the starting blocks. We had the recent announcement of a new official timekeeper, and there are watch-related things to be expected on this side soon. But the first to kick off the F1 watch game this year is IWC, which presents a watch that unsurprisingly looks familiar. Indeed, while being a time-and-date watch, it relies on the same design cues as the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. Except that now we’re looking at a titanium Mark XX version.
We’ve seen many AMG-themed watches in all the years that the team has been sponsored by IWC. Also, we have to count the dozens of special watches made with pilot Lewis Hamilton, even though this has come to an end, as he’ll soon be driving for Ferrari. But the watch we’re looking at today, just like the chronograph edition of 2022, is a bit special as it’s a so-called team watch and not a watch for the pilots. This means a model worn by the staff, including designers, aerodynamicists, race engineers, strategists and mechanics… and, as you’ve guessed, also accessible to fans.
This year, the new Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is based on the Mark XX, the latest iteration of the classic time-and-date. This fairly compact vision of the brand’s pilot’s watch is a model with roots dating back to the 1940s when it was part of the so-called Dirty Dozen, and then a military-issued watch named the Mark X. IWC brought back the concept as a civilian version in 1993 with the Mark XII, followed by a series of Mark watches including the Mark XVIII and the current Mark XX (skipping the Mark XIX in the process).
As such, we have a 40mm titanium version (not the first titanium XX) here presented in the classic AMG Petronas style, with a case that’s entirely sandblasted. The rest of the watch is traditional, with a relatively thin profile – 10.6mm – a screw-in crown and caseback, both good for 100m water-resistance, and a sapphire crystal with AR coating, secured against displacement by drops in air pressure. The back is decorated with special AMG Petronas logos.
The dial of this reference IW328210 is identical in concept to the chronograph version: matte black base, blackened hands and all the other elements – luminous hour markers, lume inserts on the hands, numerals, tracks, logos, printings and even date numerals – all in the signature Petronas green colour. This same colour can be found on the rubber strap, closed by a titanium pin buckle and equipped with the brand’s EasX-CHANGE system (you can quickly change for another colour if that green is too bold for you).
Inside the case is the manufacture calibre 32111, a group-made automatic movement with a 4Hz frequency and a solid 120-hour power reserve – or 5 days. It also comes with a stop-seconds mechanism for precise adjustment.
Now available from the brand, the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team IW328210 is priced at EUR 6,600, CHF 5,700 or USD 6,100. For more details, please visit IWC.com.

Nice color combo. Still the date window needs to go more peripheral though. Well maybe the Mark XXI will fix that.
