The Girard-Perragaux Laureato Chronograph and Laureato 42mm Williams Editions

Girard-Perragaux‘s involvement in the world of sports cars and Formula 1 isn’t new. Back in the 1990s, the brand conceived multiple watches in partnership with Ferrari and, more recently, sponsored the Aston Martin F1 Team (from 2021 to 2025). For the 2026 season, the watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds is back on the starting grid. This time, however, with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team. In order to seal this partnership, both entities reveal their first collaborative effort, with a pair of Laureato watches – one automatic time-and-date model in 42mm and one chronograph. And as we expected, the switch from Aston to Williams means that we see a change from green to blue dedicated watches. 

Shared design inspired by the Williams FW48

Both watches are based on the Laureato platform, one of the earliest members of the integrated bracelet sports watch genre. First presented in 1975, two years before Williams began competing in Formula 1, the Laureato has become an emblematic watch for the brand, and celebrated its 50th anniversary last year in style, with the Laureato Fifty, followed recently by more classic steel models in 39mm and 36mm. This was also the occasion for GP to launch a brand-new automatic movement, the calibre GP4800.

Naturally, this sports watch with an integrated bracelet is the model that makes the most sense for a Formula 1-themed collection. Two versions have been selected in order to seal the partnership with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team: the classic automatic in 42mm and the chronograph. Both models draw inspiration from the Williams FW48, the team’s 2026 racing car, thanks to dials with Clous de Paris pattern executed in Williams blue, while red details echo its keyline. Adding to the technical look of these steel models, rhodium-plated accents are found on the hands, applied markers and chronograph rings. A discreet Williams “W” sits at 12 o’clock, and a metallised Williams emblem is applied on the caseback.

The Laureato Williams Edition 42mm

The first of the two models is a classic yet large take on the time-and-date watch. The steel case, water-resistant to 100m, features the model’s classic octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet. Relatively thin, at 10.68mm, this sporty watch features the new blue colour on both the dial and the date disc. Inside is the calibre GP1800, a fairly large but slim automatic movement with a 54h power reserve. Released as a special but not limited edition, the Laureato Williams Edition 42mm is priced at EUR 15,900 or USD 16,200.

The Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition

An even more befitting edition, the Williams collection also includes a chronograph, housed in a 42mm case made this time of 904L steel. Equipped with screwed pushers and a crown guard, this bolder edition is nevertheless relatively thin at 12.16mm and yet water-resistant to 100m. The blue dial features mostly rhodium-plated accents, except for the red touch on the seconds hand. Inside is the calibre GP03300-2451, a modular chronograph with 63 jewels and 419 components, beating at 4Hz and boasting 46 hours of power reserve. Again, this is a non-limited special edition, which is priced at EUR 20,500 or USD 20,900.
