The Bremont Terra Nova 40.5 Date Caramel Limited Edition
A new caramel colour for the dial of Bremont’s vintage-inspired field watch.
With CEO Davide Cerrato at the helm, Bremont has streamlined its offer into three fundamental pillars, offering rugged tool watches for airborne, seaborne and land exploration. The Terra Nova is Bremont’s vintage-styled field watch inspired by early 20th-century military pocket watches with contemporary specifications. The latest Terra Nova is a new take on the 40.5mm time-and-date model with a caramel-coloured gradient dial.
The Terra Nova collection debuted earlier this year with four models designed to pack the ruggedness, simplicity and legibility of yesteryear military field watches. The Terra Nova Date comes in a 40.5mm cushion-shaped 904L stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.11mm and 100-metre water resistance. Decorated with a circular-brushed finish to give it a rugged look, the case is fitted with an oversized crown referencing the age when servicemen needed to adjust the time with gloved hands. The crown is engraved with the brand’s new Wayfinder symbol, replacing the former propeller logo associated with Bremont. The caseback is sealed and decorated with a world map, and a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial.
A polished round bezel frames the new caramel-coloured linear gradient dial, producing a lighter band of colour in the centre. For enhanced legibility, the large 3D numerals are made from blocks of Super-LumiNova with a vintage beige colour that emits a green glow in the dark. Like all Terra Nova models, the new model has the broken railway minutes track with luminous dots above the hours and triangles at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The faceted pencil hour and minute hands are also treated with luminescent material and accompanied by a rose gold-coloured central seconds hand. The date window at 3 o’clock has a black background. Responding to feedback, the brand has reduced the size of the Wayfinder logo and the inscriptions on the dial.
Powered by the automatic calibre BE-36AE, a Sellita SW200-1 base, the movement beats at 28,800vph and delivers a modest 38-hour power reserve. The Terra Nova 40.5 Date Caramel is a limited edition of 100 pieces. Fitted with a quick-release system, the Terra Nova can be bought on a brown leather strap for GBP 2,950 or EUR 3,550 or a stainless steel bracelet for GBP 3,200 or EUR 3,850.

One of the responsibilities of a new CEO is to do no harm and I am not sure the new Bremont CEO has accomplished this. The watch is too expensive, it’s design/dial color would tire after a short time, and does not stand out amongst the less expensive and better designed competitors.
Woof this is just about un-look-at-able…
At least twice the price of comparable offerings across the market. Tough sell for a brand which has lost all marketing momentum since their big strategic shift…..
