Oris brings more individual character to its recently redesigned aviation watch with a new bronze case and a green suede strap.
Last year, Oris refreshed the ProPilot Date, providing it with a cleaner case, revised proportions and a more contemporary take on the collection’s familiar aviation-inspired design. Now comes the first variation on that new watch: the Oris ProPilot Bronze, a warmer and more characterful interpretation that lets the material do much of the talking.
The 41mm case retains the dimensions of the current steel model, measuring 11.7mm thick and 49mm from lug to lug, but is now entirely crafted in bronze (except for the screwed steel caseback fitted with a mineral glass). Over time, the metal will naturally develop a patina, ensuring that each watch gradually takes on its own appearance. Water resistance is 100m.
The rest of the design remains reassuringly familiar. There is the turbine-inspired fluted bezel, the grippy oversized screw-in crown based on a historic 1938 Oris pilot’s watch, and the highly legible black dial with applied Arabic numerals and Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices. The date remains positioned at 6 o’clock, preserving the symmetrical layout introduced with the latest generation.
The ProPilot Bronze is powered by the automatic Oris Calibre 733, based on a Sellita SW200 (a clone of the ETA 2824). It’s a reliable time-and-date movement beating at 28,800 vibrations/hour and offering 41 hours of power reserve, equipped with an Oris-red rotor and visible through the display caseback.
The watch is worn on a dark green suede strap, closed with a folding ‘LIFT’ clasp, inspired by aircraft seatbelt mechanisms, with a seamless adjustment fit. The new ProPilot Bronze is available from September 2026, priced at CHF 2,250. For more, visit oris.ch.
