The New Hautlence Sphere Series 4
Olive green and sand tones for Hautlence’s signature multi-axis spherical display watch.
Since its recent revival under the MELB Group (owner of Moser and Agenhor too), Hautlence has focused on unconventional time display with mechanical animation rather than traditional indications. The Sphere, first introduced in 2022, quickly became the brand’s signature series, combining a multi-axis spherical jumping hour with a retrograde minute. The new Sphere Series 4 uses the more compact and refined architecture of the Series 3 (2025), now with a warmer, more organic aesthetic.
The case retains the now-established proportions of the updated Sphere generation. Made in Grade 5 titanium, it measures 37mm by 45mm with a total height of 17.4mm, or 11.5mm excluding the bulging sapphire crystal. The rectangular, TV-shaped profile remains sharply defined, with alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Water resistance is 100m.
The dial is fully skeletonised, revealing a layered construction in which bridges and gear trains are suspended within the case. The main evolution lies in the colour palette, shifting to olive green and sand tones to evoke mineral and natural textures. On the left, the spherical jumping hour remains the focal point. Crafted in titanium with a sandblasted finish, the sphere rotates on three axes through a system of bevel gears arranged on crossed axes inclined at 21 degrees.
The display evolves continuously, presenting the hour through a controlled and dynamic sequence. On the right, the retrograde minute display spans a 180-degree arc on a suspended track. The hand travels across the scale before making an instantaneous return at the top of the hour. This rapid snap-back, precise and visually engaging, remains one of Hautlence’s defining technical features.
Powering the watch is the in-house hand-wound calibre A82. Operating at 21,600 vibrations/ hour, it delivers a 72-hour power reserve. The openworked architecture exposes the barrel and ratchet. A safety mechanism is integrated to prevent incorrect manipulation during time-setting.
The Sphere Series 4 is worn on an olive-green suede strap closed with a titanium folding clasp. It is released as a limited edition of 28 pieces, priced at CHF 74,600 (excluding taxes). For more information, please visit Hautlence.com.
