Since the Sphere’s introduction in 2023, Hautlence has offered its unconventional creation in different colours, materials, and case executions. The blue-toned Sphere Series 1 established the collection’s signature multi-axis jumping hour, followed by the black-and-grey Series 2. The Sphere Series 3 came in a more compact titanium case with purple accents, while the Sphere Series 4 adopted olive-green and sand colours. For the new Sphere Series 5, the brand uses white as the defining colour. Limited to 28 pieces, the watch debuts at the Salón Internacional de Alta Relojería (SIAR) in Mexico City.

The rectangular Grade 5 titanium case retains the more compact design introduced in the Sphere Series 3 and measures 37mm by 45mm and 17.4mm thick, including the sapphire crystal. Without the crystal, it is 11.5mm thick. Satin-finished and polished surfaces define the case middle, horns, bezel, and crown, retaining the series’ design. An extra-hard sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and bevelled edges protects the dial, while a sapphire caseback reveals the movement. Water-resistance is 100m.

The Sphere’s signature feature is its spherical jumping hour mechanism. The watch displays the hours on a titanium sphere that rotates on three axes. Four conical gears are arranged around the two inclined crossed axes to control its movement. At the top of each hour, the sphere rotates to reveal the next numeral. Minutes are indicated separately by a retrograde hand moving across a 180-degree sector.

For this edition, the hours sphere receives a white coating, and the engraved numerals are filled with grey Super-LumiNova. The minutes hand is made of micro-blasted brass with a sandblasted coating and grey Super-LumiNova. A skeletonised, rhodium-plated brass base dial has a frosted finish. The sapphire dial carries applied minute numerals in Globolight.

The Sphere Series is powered by the hand-wound A82 calibre, combining a base architecture from sister company Moser with a display module designed and assembled by Hautlence. The 160-component movement operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour and has a minimum power reserve of 72 hours.

The watch is worn on a white suede strap and secured with a titanium folding clasp. The Sphere Series 5 launches exclusively in Mexico for its first 30 days, and each watch allocated to the Mexican market comes with three interchangeable suede straps in white, green and red. After the initial exclusivity period, other deliveries will include only the white suede strap. The Hautlence Sphere Series 5 is limited to 28 pieces and priced at CHF 72,200 (excl. taxes).
