The More Compact Norqain Wild One Skeleton 39mm
Norqain's high-performance ultra-light sports watch is now available in a more compact, unisex 39mm case with eye-catching colours.

Ben Kuffer, the CEO of Norqain, is lucky to have industry heavyweight Jean-Claude Biver on his advisory board. Thanks to Biver’s valuable input, Norqain introduced its high-performance Wild One sports watch collection in 2022. Featuring an innovative carbon fibre composite case with a rubber shock absorber padding the titanium movement container, the Wild One is as rugged as they come. Appearing with closed and skeletonised dials, the Wild One is now available in a more compact, unisex 39mm case in four vibrant colours.
This high-performance sports watch was developed in close collaboration with Jean-Claude Biver and depends on Norteq, a super-light, ultra-resistant carbon fibre composite with a polymer matrix containing 60% bio-based material (castor oil). Six times lighter than steel and three-and-a-half times lighter than titanium, the new 39mm skeletonised version of the watch weighs just 64 grams. Another advantage of Norteq is that it can be produced in any colour under the rainbow. The elaborate 25-part case construction, with the Norteq protective cage at either end, is reinforced with a rubber shock absorber surrounding the titanium movement container. Shock-tested to 5000g, the Wild One is also up for underwater adventures with its screw-down crown and 200m depth rating.
The new 39mm diameter Wild One Skeleton models have a thickness of 11.75mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 45.75mm. Issued in four bold, high-energy colours, the Hyper Pink, Sky Blue and Mint editions come with a black mottled Norteq cage with matching pink, blue or green accents. The fourth version flaunts a new shade with a purple Norteq cage and an Ice Blue shock absorber.
The prevailing colour scheme extends to many features of the watch, including the rubber shock absorbers, the crown guards, the ring on the bezel, the rubber strap and even the Super-LumiNova applied to the hands and indices. As with all Norqain models, the plate on the left case side can be customised.
The openworked dial with grey skeletonised bridges exposes the automatic calibre N08S (Sellita SW200). The rectangular indices are attached to the minutes flange and suspended over the movement. Like the faceted hour and minute hands and the tip of the central seconds hand, the indices feature Super-LumiNova inserts matching the colour scheme of the watch. The automatic skeletonised movement is COSC chronometer-certified, beats at 28,800vph and delivers a power reserve of 41 hours.
All four models come with Milanese-style mesh rubber straps with a black border. The Wild One Skeleton Hyper Pink, Sky Blue and Purple Ice Blue share a retail price of EUR 5,390. The Mint is a limited edition of 400 and retails for EUR 5,490. More information at norqain.com.

plastic watch with a Sellita for 5500 dollars ? WHAT!!!
They’ve always been overly expensive even at half that price when initially released. Why do I want rubber all over my watch that will deteriorate & be expensive to replace? Remember AP’s bezels & pushers? Double the price of a Tudor for God’s sake.
