The Zesty H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Concept Citrus Green (incl. Video)

A blend of distinctive design and durability, the new H. Moser & Cie. creation is here to excite and polarize.

| By Denis Peshkov | 3 min read |

The H. Moser & Cie. Concept series, distinguished by the sheer elegance of minimalistic yet very elaborately finished dials, expands to include a watch in a sporty Pioneer case. The result is beautifully controversial, perhaps as intended by the brand, for the athletic, almost brutal, and adventure-ready case gets paired with a very funky-coloured dial. We take a first look at the new H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green.

The new Pioneer Concept Citrus Green makes a bold statement with its generous proportions. Encased in the Pioneer stainless steel, mostly brushed case with cutouts along the caseband, showcasing a ridged pattern, it boasts a substantial 42.8mm diameter and measures approximately 51mm from lug to lug. With a notable bulbous shape, the case stands at 10.6mm in height without the domed sapphire crystal, expanding to 14.2mm with its inclusion. Featuring a lug width of 22mm, this timepiece commands attention on the wrist yet offers a comfortable fit thanks to its ergonomic design. Further enhancing its practicality, the screw-down crown, adorned with an M logo, ensures water resistance up to 120 meters, making it suitable for everyday wear and tear.

In the classic Moser fashion, the dial of the new Concept Citrus Green is genuinely remarkable. The vibrant and zesty green fumé dial, a hallmark of H. Moser, mesmerizes with its captivating gradient from vivid yellow-green hues at the centre to deeper green shades towards the edges. True to the Concept design with stripping away markers and logos, the dial embodies minimalist elegance, focusing solely on its breathtaking colour transition.

Despite the absence of minute tracks and indices, telling time is almost effortless, thanks to the expansive dial size and the leaf-shaped skeletonized hour and minute hands, partially filled with Super-LumiNova. While precise time-reading isn’t the primary focus of this concept, the hands stand out distinctly against the bright green backdrop, ensuring clear readability at a glance. And with the white inner flange filled with Super-LumiNova, you can also enjoy the green fumé dial in the dark.

The H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green is powered by the HMC 201 movement, an evolution of the HMC 200 automatic calibre with a three-day power reserve. The movement is visible through the exhibition caseback; it is adorned with an anthracite finish and gold engravings and combines modern aesthetics with undeniable visual impact. Note H. Moser’s signature double stripes, the newly skeletonized bridges and a transparent rotor, which offers unobstructed views of the inner workings with contrasting finishing techniques, and a large balance wheel oscillating at a rate of 21,600 vibrations/hour, ensuring precision and reliability in every tick.

The Pioneer Centre Seconds Concept Citrus Green by H. Moser provides versatility in wear. It offers the choice of a hand-stitched alligator leather, rubber, or textile strap, each fastened with an engraved steel pin buckle. Alternatively, pair it with a steel bracelet for a more coherent look. The price is CHF 14,500, including taxes. For further details, visit h-moser.com.
