Prepped for fun in the sun, the Pioneer proposes a heady cocktail of sunshine yellow and warm berry purple.
Nothing captures the relaxed vibe of summer quite like vibrant colours. Launched in 2015, H. Moser & Cie.’s Pioneer Centre Seconds was conceived as the brand’s everyday, all-purpose watch with a robust, versatile personality. Translating Moser’s minimalist, high-end watchmaking into a more wearable, active format, the Pioneer flaunts a more muscular, water-resistant case construction without becoming an overtly technical sports watch. For summer 2026, Moser proposes a heady cocktail of limoncello yellow and berry purple liqueur, with the bold new Pioneer Centre Seconds Sun Berry.
Not to be confused with the Streamliner luxury sports watch collection, which features a fluid, cushion-shaped case design and an integrated bracelet, the Pioneer Centre Seconds has a classic round case. Available in two case sizes, the new Pioneer Sun Berry comes in the more compact 40mm diameter with a 12.3mm thickness and a very wearable 48.1mm lug-to-lug.
Viewed from the side, the curved ergonomic case architecture is highlighted with hollowed-out areas. Adding an aerodynamic touch, the recessed areas are engraved with ribbing and slope sharply towards the short, blocky lugs. Reminiscent of grille intake vents on a car, the darker, scalloped recesses are machined and finished by hand for contrast. The polished case flanks further highlight the indented areas, while the top surfaces of the middle case feature a sporty, vertical brushed finish that meets the round, mirror-polished bezel. The screw-down crown, with the raised “M” logo, ensures the 120m water-resistance.
Colourful dials, often treated with a fumé smoked effect, are a signature feature of Moser watches. Having toyed with colours like Funky Blue, Cosmic or Citrus Green, the Pioneer has also experimented with more unconventional tones like the eggy Sunny Side-Up and the powerful blue-and-orange Spiced Aqua lineup.
As a Moser Concept watch, where minimalism is pushed to the max, there are no numerals or branding to detract from the stunning scenery, just three central hands. The latest Pioneer Sun Berry celebrates the summer with its sunshine-yellow accents set against a rich berry background with a sunburst pattern. The sunny yellow colour, emphasised with yellow Super-LumiNova, appears on the periphery of the dial as well as on the leaf-shaped hour and minute hands. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal. As the specs indicate, the height of the case with the sapphire crystal is 12.3mm; without it, it’s just 10.4mm high.
The four-screw exhibition caseback reveals the brand’s HMC 201 automatic calibre. The skeletonised rotor reveals the mainspring barrel, gear train and balance, along with the anthracite-coated plates and bridges and the signature Moser double stripes. Beating at 21,600vph, the power reserve is a robust 72 hours.
The Pioneer Centre Seconds Sun Berry is paired with a yellow rubber strap and a steel pin buckle. It retails for CHF 18,300 (incl. tax). More information at h-moser.com.
