When you are a historic watchmaker like Favre Leuba, you can go back to the archives and return with a slice of the past and new ideas. That is exactly what happened with the Deep Blue, the brand’s six-decade-old dive watch known for its crosshair dial and 200m water-resistance. Stylish and genuinely capable at the same time, the Deep Blue became one of Favre Leuba’s better-known dive watches from the era. The brand brought that design back in 2024 with the Deep Raider Revival, along with the more modern Deep Raider Renaissance. Now, those time-and-date models are joined by the new Deep Raider Power Reserve, which brings a fresh display with a power reserve indicator, small seconds, and triple-figure date.

The feeling of the Deep Raider design is still there, which is definitely great given that 2024 time-and-date models handled the vintage-modern balance very well. Packed inside a stainless steel case, the Deep Raider Power Reserve measures 40mm in diameter with a thickness of 12.59mm. It keeps the same integrated overall profile with tapered lugs and alternating brushed and polished surfaces. Favre Leuba also keeps the ceramic unidirectional bezel with its luminous pip at 12 o’clock. The watch comes with a screw-in crown and 300m water-resistance. This is still very much positioned as a capable modern diver first, just with an amped up display this time.

The Deep Raider Power Reserve has a small seconds display at 9 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, while the triple-figure date display runs vertically at 3 o’clock. All these functions get metallic frames around them, and that looks nice for contrast on the coloured dials. These dials receive a sunray finish, while the two sub-dials use a snailed texture for more contrast. Five colours are available at launch: white, black, green, blue, and ice blue. These are put together with applied indexes and polished hands.

Running inside the Deep Raider Power Reserve is the automatic FLP01 calibre. This is based on the Sellita SW279-1 and runs at 28,800 vibrations/hour, stores up to 41 hours of power reserve and, of course, lets you track the remaining energy directly through the new power reserve display.

The watch comes on an integrated steel bracelet with brushed and polished links and a butterfly clasp. All the rubber straps from the existing Deep Raider Renaissance collection remain compatible with the new model as well. The caseback also shows Favre Leuba’s classic emblem inside a wave-style engraving, along with the phrase “Conquering Frontiers Since 1737”.

The new Favre Leuba Deep Raider Power Reserve retails at CHF 2,500. For more information, please visit favreleuba.com.
