Solid & Seductive, The New Farer Moritz Green Chronograph
A stylish tri-compax chronograph emphasizes green with Farer’s always distinctive flair

Farer is a brand you’re likely familiar with as it’s a well-established British watch company at this point, founded in 2015 with a large portfolio (past and present) of stylish and even whimsical models. The latest Farer Moritz Green chronograph is a bit subdued compared to the brand’s more colourful models, but an emphasis on green and Farer’s unique touches keep it interesting and certainly cool. The specs are high for a microbrand (although perhaps Farer has graduated from that moniker) and there are several customization options including a host of straps, custom engravings and the ability to choose a serial number.
The Moritz Green is the latest edition of the Chrono-Sports collection, which includes the Bernina Titanium and Carnegie Titanium chronographs. The case, crown, and pushers are Grade 2 titanium. The case measures 41mm in diameter and 13.5mm in height (44mm lug-to-lug) with a water resistance rating of 100 metres. The green theme seen throughout is to honour British Racing Green that’s been associated with motorsport since 1903.
The fixed bezel has a green anodized aluminium insert with a telemetre scale in kilometres, engraved with X1 “Old Radium” Super-LumiNova to match the dial lume. Polished twin pushers sit at 2 and 4 o’clock and the push/pull crown is inset with a signed bronze cap. A domed sapphire crystal with an internal AR coating protects the dial, while a sapphire exhibition case back displays the decorated hand-wound Swiss movement. The watch comes fitted with a 20mm green suede leather strap with stainless steel buckle, but there are nine strap options in total with rubber and leather being additional materials.
The green sunburst dial has a tri-compax layout with an oversized 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock for a “big-eye” chronograph aesthetic. The hand in this sub-dial also has Super-LumiNova, unlike the other two. There’s a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock, and all sub-dials are recessed with an engine-turned (snailed) finish. Applied indices and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock are made from blocks of X1 Super-LumiNova, while the dial print is white. The 6 o’clock numeral also floats over the 12-hour sub-dial. The matte silver hour and minute hands have X1 Super-LumiNova inserts and the chronograph seconds hand is solid green. A detailed white minute/chronograph seconds track sits on an outermost angled flange. There are a lot of details, but the dial isn’t overly busy and easy to read.
Powering the Moritz Green is a hand-wound, Elaboré grade Sellita SW510M b, using the Valjoux 7750 as a base. It has 23 jewels, beats at 28,800vph (4Hz) and features a 63-hour power reserve. Functions include central hours, minutes and chronograph seconds, 30-minute counter, 12-hour counter and small seconds. This is a no-date movement with no phantom setting. Decorations include perlage, blued screws and Farer’s monogram chequered sports pattern on the main bridge.
The Farer Moritz Green is available to order now and is limited to 100 pieces. The first 10 shipped immediately and are sold out, so the remaining 90 are scheduled to ship on April 2nd with a retail price of EUR 2,125. In our book, that sounds like a very fair deal given the specs!

This is so beautiful! I would buy instantly if it was 37-39mm. My wrist just can’t carry those larger watches especially chronographs that are thicker as well. I hope Farer keeps their pops of colour but also do models like this that have strong colour but a safer amount of it 😅 especially green cause it’s my favourite colour ☺️
