The Farer Integra, A new Collection of Sporty-Chic Watches with a Twist

A collection of four new integrated sports watches with unique, colourful dials, a refined bracelet design and accessible prices.

British watchmaker Farer is well known for unique dial designs with a lot of colour, but the new Integra collection adds a bit of refinement with exotic dial materials, a compact case and an exceptional bracelet design. The contemporary vibe blends with robustness as these rugged pieces can go just about anywhere. It’s a bit trite to call a watch an “all occasion piece” these days, but that really does apply to the Integra. The case is thin and stylish with an overall design suitable for formal wear, but it’s also built for the rigours of outdoor adventures and carries a 100 metre water resistance rating.

Starting with the dials, there are four in the collection, and we have the salmon variant on hand called Cuprum (each dial has a Latin name related to the colour). Both the Cuprum and blue dial variant, Tenebris, have multiple dial finishes – a central sunray section, an outer grained section with applied silver Arabic numerals and indices, and a brushed metallic chapter ring with etched minute track.

The third dial, Perlarum, is made from white mother-of-pearl with discreet multi-coloured hues, while the final green dial, Viridis, is cut from 1mm of the natural stone, malachite. There is X2 Super-LumiNova on the hour/minute hands and Arabic numerals/indices, but the mother-of-pearl Perlarum dial has black overprint over Lumicast numerals/indices, creating a cool backglow effect in low light. All dials have colour-matching date windows and seconds hands, along with etched horizontal lines to match the bracelet design for a uniform look. Although the materials and finishes vary, core dial elements are common to all.

The brushed and polished stainless steel case comes in at 38.5mm in diameter and 10.3mm in height (42mm lug-to-lug). The screw-down crown has a signed bronze insert (a signature Farer design), and water resistance is rated at 100 metres. A sapphire crystal with multiple anti-reflective coatings protects the dial, and there’s an exhibition case back secured with four screws.

The integrated bracelet tapers from 24mm at the case all the way down to 16mm at the hidden and signed butterfly clasp, which has on-the-fly micro-adjustments of 3mm on each side (6mm total). The links themselves are secured with screws for easy adjustment, and there are quick-release levers to quickly swap to the supplied rubber strap, which itself has horizontal lines matching the bracelet. The centre bracelet sections are polished and separate from the brushed main links (with polished outer and inner edges), all resulting in a refined and stylish bracelet designed exclusively for the collection.

Powering the Integra is a Top Grade Sellita SW300-1 with 25 jewels, a beat rate of 28,800vph (4Hz) and a 56-hour power reserve (improved from 38 hours with the SW200-1). It’s adjusted in five positions for accuracy and has a custom, fully circular rotor with cutouts meant to match the bracelet’s center links, and each has a vapour-coated finish to match the respective dial. Perlage on the movement is seen through the rotor cutouts. Functions include central hours, minutes, hacking seconds and date.

The new Farer Integra retails for EUR 1,695, USD 1,650 or GBP 1,450 for the Tenebris and Cuprum models, and EUR 1,825, USD 1,765 and GBP 1,550 for the Viridis and Perlarum models. These are excellent prices for such refined integrated watches with a unique bracelet design and Top Grade Sellita movement.
