Certina expands its compact automatic dive watch collection with two black PVD-coated editions, featuring orange or teal elements inspired by the sport of padel.
Certina’s DS Action Diver is an accessible, practical dive watch, available in several sizes, materials and colours. The collection was updated in 2025, receiving enhanced shock resistance and new material combinations. This year, Certina adds two more versions of the DS Action Diver 38mm, in black PVD-coated cases with contrasting orange or teal details. The new editions reflect Certina’s relationship with padel, a sport the brand has actively supported since 2021, through a combination of technical functionality and energetic colour.
The stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter and 13.2mm thick. The black PVD coating gives the watch a monochromatic foundation, contrasted by the coloured details around the dial and bezel. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a matte ceramic insert carries the diving scale, with its graduations matching the orange or teal accents of each version. The screw-down crown and caseback contribute to the watch’s 300m water resistance. The domed sapphire crystal features an anti-reflective coating. The case also incorporates Certina’s DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance. This construction protects the watch against impacts with a strengthened crystal, a secured movement and a reinforced dial.
Both models feature a black dial with a coloured lacquered flange hosting the minutes/seconds track, available in orange or teal. Applied geometric hour markers and the hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for visibility in low light. The lollipop-style central seconds hand is painted in either orange or teal and features a luminous dot. A date window remains at 3 o’clock.
The watch is powered by Certina’s automatic Powermatic 80.611 calibre (ETA C07.611), an evolution of the ETA 2824 equipped with a Nivachron balance spring. This antimagnetic alloy helps protect the movement from everyday magnetic exposure. The movement delivers an 80-hour power reserve. The operating frequency is 21,600 vibrations/hour.
The new DS Action Diver 38mm references come on a black DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet, with a matching orange or teal silicone strap included. The bracelet has a quick-release system and a deployant clasp with two push buttons and a diver’s extension.
