The C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Six, the Last of the Series

With the brand announcing this watch as the last in the series, one cannot help but wonder what will follow.

First introduced in 2021 as the Continuum, the C by Romain Gauthier series showcases a contemporary titanium case with a unique bezel. It is crafted by machining a circular shape before cutting six facets into the bevelled edge. The C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Six is the final instalment in the series of sporty, time-only watches in lightweight titanium and paired with a rubber strap. Aside from its distinctive colour choice, the partially open sapphire dial sets this new timepiece apart.

The exhibition caseback echoes this distinctive silhouette. The sandblasted titanium dial featured a slightly off-centred handset and running seconds sub-dial at 7 o’clock, accented with red details on both the sub-dial and the crown positioned at 2 o’clock. This model also debuted a new Gauthier movement with titanium finger-like bridges, enhancing the modern aesthetic and completing the highly appealing overall look that would shape the collection.

In 2022, the bold and aggressive C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Two played with contrasting colours. It featured a titanium case and dial coated in black ADLC, complemented by red Super-LumiNova on the hands, indices, sub-dial markers and a red rubber ring on the crown. Edition Two was followed by the C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Three, which introduced subtle ice-blue decorations for a more relaxed feel.

The black ADLC case returned in 2023 with the blue-accented C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Four, maintaining the exact specifications and overall design as its predecessors. The C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Five introduced a titanium case with a champagne-coloured dial surface enhanced with a protective UV layer – a standard feature in the collection. This edition also featured burgundy lines marking 5-second intervals on the small seconds subdial at 7 o’clock and a burgundy rubber ring on the crown.

The new C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Six features a natural grade 5 titanium case, consistent with the series’ design, measuring 41mm in diameter, 9.55mm thick, and 49.5mm lug-to-lug. This edition introduces a partially open sapphire dial, revealing the seconds mechanism with the signature Romain Gauthier seconds wheel and the escapement assembly on the right. The minutes track, hands, tapering lines of the running seconds sub-dial, and rubber ring on the crown are all highlighted in orange. Super-LumiNova treatment extends to the white gold hands, applied baton indices, and Arabic numerals.

The in-house manual wound calibre operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 60-hour power reserve. It showcases the exceptional decorative techniques and design that have been a hallmark of the movement since its introduction.

The new C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Six is offered on a grey rubber strap with a natural grade 5 titanium pin. Edition Six is a limited run of 88, with a watch’s number engraved on the back of the movement. The price is CHF 48,000 without taxes. What is coming next is a question that we’re very much looking forward to knowing the answer… For more, please visit romaingauthier.com.

  1. sorry but that’s one hell of an ugly watch, it’s also super clinical with no “soul” to it. it feels its made by a robot, again it’s the romantic idea that watches are made by hand and all that.
