The Bianchet Rotondo UltraFino now in Rose Gold
Bianchet brings warmth and precious metal to its ultra-thin flying tourbillon watch, without sacrificing its technical edge.
Earlier this year, independent Swiss brand Bianchet expanded beyond its signature tonneau-shaped watches with the launch of the Rotondo UltraFino, a sleek round interpretation of its distinctive designs. With an ultra-thin profile, an integrated bracelet and a flying tourbillon movement, the titanium and carbon models introduced a more versatile side to the young brand while retaining its focus on technical performance. Bianchet now follows with a warmer, more luxurious interpretation: discover the new Rotondo UltraFino Rose Gold.
The Rotondo measures a compact 39.5mm in diameter and only 8.9mm in thickness, making it remarkably slim for an automatic flying tourbillon sports watch. Satin-brushed surfaces alternate with polished bevels across the case. Water-resistant to 100m and shock-resistant to 5,000G, it retains the robust specs of the titanium model despite its more precious appearance. As before, the case combines flowing curves with sharply faceted surfaces, reflecting Bianchet’s “Form Above All” philosophy, where geometry dictates every aspect of the design. A signature rubber gasket beneath the bezel remains an integral visual element, here in black, adding depth and contrast between warm rose gold and black technical accents.
The skeletonised dial seen on the inaugural Rotondo models remains. The movement is the display, with the barrel positioned at 12 o’clock, balancing the one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Applied hour markers and faceted hands provide legibility without distracting from the openworked construction.
The watch is powered by proprietary calibre UR01, developed for the Rotondo collection. Although housed in a precious-metal case, the movement remains resolutely technical, yet benefits from extensive hand-finishing. Operating frequency is 21,600 vibrations/hour, with a 60-hour power reserve. The titanium bridges now receive a black PVD treatment, creating a monochrome backdrop for the rose gold oscillating weight.
Buyers can opt for the integrated rose gold bracelet with an additional black rubber strap, or choose a dual-rubber-strap configuration in black or white. Thanks to the quick-release system, swapping requires only a few seconds. Prices are CHF 85,500 (excl. taxes) on the rubber strap and CHF 119,500 (excl. taxes) on the gold bracelet.
