New Editions of the MeisterSinger Pangaea with Textured Dials
Refining a familiar single-hand model with added depth and subtle animation.
While not the only brand to offer watches with a single-handed time display, MeisterSinger (since 2001) is the only one to have built its entire identity around this concept. Rooted in early watchmaking traditions, long before minutes and seconds dominated the dial, the brand’s approach prioritises perception over precision. A slower, more deliberate reading of time is something that feels very much relevant today. The Pangaea has long been one of MeisterSinger’s most emblematic collections, and this latest update introduces a dial that brings greater depth and refinement to the watch.
In 2026, the brand retains the familiar 40mm x 11.5mm stainless steel case, which is softly curved and fully polished, featuring a large fluted onion crown and a slim bezel, all topped by a sapphire crystal. The display caseback is secured with six screws, and water resistance is 50m. A version with a gold PVD-coated bezel is also available, offering a more luxurious touch without significantly increasing the final price.
The dial layout remains typical of MeisterSinger’s production, with large two-digit hour numerals and fine markers for half and quarter hours, and dots indicating five-minute increments. A closer look, however, reveals the evolution. For this new series, the dial surface is decorated with a finely textured pattern composed of repeated fermatas, the musical symbol for pause, and MeisterSinger’s emblem. The MeisterSinger Sun Wheel, a feature recently seen on the Panthero Jumping Hour, adds a playful touch. Positioned above the 6 o’clock mark, it rotates once per minute, not to indicate time, but to visualise its passage. As expected, it is driven by the movement’s small seconds axle.
The new Pangaea is offered in two main colour variations. A deep blue dial paired with warm gold accents for a more classic, almost dress-oriented feel, with an optional gold PVD bezel to enhance presence. A silver-grey dial with contrasting blue elements offers a cooler, more contemporary look.
The watch is powered by the automatic Sellita SW261, a small second variant of the classic SW200 architecture, visible through the sapphire caseback. The movement operates at a 28,800vibrations/hour frequency and delivers a 38-hour power reserve.
The new MeisterSinger Pangaea is worn on the calf leather straps with ostrich embossing in warm tones (cognac or dark brown), or in blue. The price is EUR 2,590 for the full-steel editions or EUR 2,690 for the gold PVD bezel variant, and these are immediately available from the brand. For more details, consult meistersinger.com.
