The New Seiko Presage Style60s SRPL71, SRPL73, and SRPL75
Fresh new colours and a redesigned dial for the Presage Style60s.

The Seiko Presage Style60s collection has become a classic for the Japanese watchmaker. Inspired by the Crown Chronograph of 1964, even though we’re talking about time-and-date or GMT models in general, this collection brings vintage flair and casual style at reasonable prices. Recently, Seiko released a pair of new models – SRPL07 and SRPL09 – presented in a smaller case with a new steel bracelet design. Building on this successful combination, the collection grows once more with three new references (SRPL71, SRPL73, and SRPL75), stylish colours and some updates to the dial that bring a more balanced design.
First presented in 2021, the Seiko Presage Style60s Collection launched with 40.8mm cases and several displays, such as the classic time-and-date (at 3 o’clock), Open Heart editions, a central power reserve version and some GMT models. Rather popular, inspired by an important watch for Seiko – despite some controversies regarding the absence of a chronograph function and a fixed bezel – and fairly accessible, the collection gathered quite some interest. Last year, Seiko introduced its first major evolution with the references SRPL07 and SRPL09. Slightly smaller, equipped with a newly designed steel bracelet and with… a date at 4:30. Something that was not particularly well received.
This year, Seiko seems to have listened to the fans and brings another round of updates to the compact Presage Style60s. Three new references, three fancy colour schemes, and some improvements to the dial layout. These, once again, don’t reinvent the wheel, but gradually improve an already appealing concept. The base remains the same as last year’s edition, with a 39.5mm case, measuring 12mm in thickness and 46.2mm in length – in short, very pleasant proportions, except maybe a bit on the thick side. The dial is protected by a Hardlex box crystal (still no sapphire), the caseback has a see-through crystal and the water-resistance is rated at 50m.
Framing the watch are now aluminium bezels, which are still fixed, even though featuring a 60-minute scale – so don’t expect doing much with it, except that it looks cool and adds a sporty touch. Three new and fresh colourways are introduced. First, the SRPL71 comes with an Ice Green (mint) dial and a dark green bezel insert. Second, the SRPL73 features a rather unexpected but fun Silvery Violet dial with a faded grey bezel – that one has some flair. Finally, the SRPL75 is the boldest with its Golden Yellow dial, brown bezel and two-tone brown leather strap.
New colours and reduced proportions are not the only updates on these Presage Style60s. Some work has been done on the dial’s layout too. Early 40.8mm editions brought a two-tone effect thanks to different finishes on the dial – sunray brushed with a circular brushed chapter ring – and featured a date at 3 o’clock. Last year’s compact SRPL07 and SRPL09 moved the date to 4:30 in a circular aperture, while having uniformly finished dials. The new SRPL71, SRPL73, and SRPL75 bring yet another style. First, for the sake of symmetry, the metal-framed date is now located at 6 o’clock. Second, the dials are back to a sector layout, with the addition of a concave recessed ring under the applied markers. Finally, the centre of the dial now has a horizontal brushed finish. The dynamic, luminous dauphine hands have been kept.
Inside the case, no surprises, as we have the classic calibre 4R35, an automatic movement beating at 3Hz and with 40 hours of power reserve. It is here wound by an openworked gilt rotor. And while the yellow version comes on a bold two-tone leather strap, the two other editions are fitted with the recently introduced metal bracelet. Even though they appear as a 5-link design, these actually feature three pieces (the horizontal section is one piece) with thin connecting links – which are here brushed instead of polished on the SRPL07 and SRPL09. All are closed by a folding clasp with push-button release.
Available worldwide as of May 2025, the new Seiko Presage Style60s SRPL71, SRPL73, and SRPL75 are all priced at EUR 590 or GBP 500. For more details, please visit seikowatches.com.

An example for a watch designed by a committee. I guess some people will like it, but not for me.
If it only had movable bezel.
A 60s throw back. A plane watch with a date complication and a Seiko it does not get any better!
Lovely watches. Date window so much better at 6. Would’ve liked more water resistance.
