What Made Dubai Watch Week 2025 Probably the Best Watch Fair of the Year?
It's more than just a watch fair, it's a love letter to watchmaking in the most relaxed possible way.
Founded in 2015 by leading UAE retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, what started as a local event targeting mostly collectors and aficionados has now become one of the unavoidable moments of the year for the watch industry. We’re, of course, talking about Dubai Watch Week. In only 10 years, it has grown to become one of the most influential watch fairs, gathering over 90 brands and thousands of watch enthusiasts from all horizons. It’s not just about brands, retailers and press; it’s a full-circle event, focused on collecting and the passion for watches. And yes, we dare to say it, Dubai Watch Week 2025 is likely to have become the best watch event so far.
In our recap video, our Founder Frank Geelen and Editor Xavier Markl discuss what makes DWW such a great experience, but also talk to insiders, collectors, and watch lovers to understand what the key ingredients to this brilliant recipe are. So make sure to check the video at the top of this article.
As a reminder, Dubai Watch Week is organised by one retailer, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, and while it started as a local event focused on collectors and potential clients, with a strong focus on education, it has grown drastically to become a full-fledged watch fair, gathering this year over 90 brands, around 49,000 visitors (more than double the number of DWW 2023) and 86 international hosted media on-site. And to prove the growing importance of the event, over 20 global watch launches occurred at Dubai Watch Week 2025, including some serious ones such as the Chopard L.U.C Grand Strike or the Urwerk x Ulysse Nardin UR-Freak.
But what makes this event such a success? It’s not about selling watches, it’s about sharing the passion, the emotion for watches, through events, panels and masterclasses. Where could you see the very discreet CEO or Rolex talking publicly? At DWW. Where can you see roundtables with craftsmen, CEOs and collectors casually talking about watches? In Dubai. But to give you the full recap, have a look at our video where CEOs and collectors explain what makes this show such an enjoyable time.

Thx for the report and videos from DWW. ?
What’s happened that has made watch fairs in other countries better, and more involved and inviting than watch fairs in Switzerland? Who goofed? But it’s a rhetorical question as we know. It’s another symbolic nail in the coffin of the Swiss watch industry, as it continues to implode. And it’s much too arrogant and greedy to adapt its business model, no matter the supercilious talk from brand ceo’s about making their watches and brands more inviting and inclusive for potential customers; because they lie.
