The Jui is a snapshot of a thriving community, translated into steel and mother-of-pearl, resulting in a deeply personal yet universally appealing watch.
Watches are built to tell time, but also to impress, and to connect. The Jui is a collaboration between Watch Ho & Co., a Hong Kong-based watch community and club founded by Jackie Ho, and indie brand Selten, and it belongs firmly in the latter category. Created to mark Watch Ho & Co.’s second anniversary, it’s a piece steeped in symbolism, pulling from history, craftsmanship, and the passion that binds collectors together. The name “Jui” translates loosely as “to meet” or “to gather,” and that ethos runs through every design decision of the new Selten timepiece, a wearable reminder of the moments and friendships forged over shared passions.
The case of the Watch Ho & Co. x Selten Jui is made from 316L grade stainless steel and offers 50m of water resistance. Measuring 39mm in diameter, 9.95mm in thickness and 45.5mm lug-to-lug, it strikes a versatile balance between presence and wearability, while a 20mm lug width allows for strap interchangeability. A domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the dial, and the exhibition caseback, engraved to mark the anniversary and collaboration, provides a clear view of the custom Selten rotor.
The impressive dial is cut from natural black Tahitian mother-of-pearl, producing an iridescent surface with shifting tones of green, violet, red, and blue. Selten engraves the surface with a CNC-machined guilloché-style “mountain” pattern, a motif derived from the armour of ancient China, historically associated with unity and protection.
Here, the pattern has been reinterpreted to represent individual collectors within the wider watch community. Surrounding the central motif are rings of finely intersecting circles, each one different yet connected, symbolising the range of collecting styles, local clubs, and international networks. Skeletonised sword hands maintain the armour reference while allowing the detail of the dial to remain visible. On the dotted chapter ring, at 2 o´clock, a discreet Chinese numeral marks the anniversary without disrupting the clean design.
The Jui is powered by Miyota’s 9039 automatic calibre, a slim no-date movement known for its reliability and stable timekeeping. This movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour frequency and has a 42-hour power reserve. The custom rotor, visible through the sapphire back, provides a final element of personalisation. The watch is fitted with a HasNoBounds hand-stitched French Epsom leather strap lined in green goatskin for comfort and flexibility, secured with a brushed 316L stainless steel pin buckle.
The Watch Ho & Co. x Selten Jui will be available exclusively via pre-order from 23:00 HKT on 13 August 2025 for a 72-hour window, priced at USD 1,099. Once production concludes, no more will be made in this Black MOP configuration.
