Titoni goes Higher-End and Sporty with the new Luxe Tourbillon Ceramic

Tourbillons have long been associated with traditional high watchmaking. Still, in recent years, we have seen quite a few of these appear in the more accessible segment, from Yema, Patria, or Louis Erard. Powered by a movement using the same technical base (developed by Olivier Mory) as the aforementioned models, Titoni now joins the bandwagon with the Luxe Tourbillon collection. And if the angular sports-watch appearance inevitably feels reminiscent of watches such as the Zenith Defy or AP Royal Oak, it retains some of Titoni’s own design elements and an attractive price positioning.

The 41mm Titoni Luxe Tourbillon case is made from black high-tech ceramic and features a distinctive polygonal bezel. Its vertically brushed surfaces are contrasted by polished facets, giving the watch a technical, architectural appearance. At 50mm lug-to-lug, it is substantial without being excessively large. The case is topped with a flat sapphire crystal, and the transparent caseback, fixed with 8 screws, provides an unobstructed view of the movement. Water resistance is rated at 50m.

The dial is offered in black, deep blue (seen in this article) or burgundy red, each featuring Titoni’s vertically brushed quadro pattern. The applied hour markers and hands are plated in 4N rose gold, for a warmer, bolder touch. The tourbillon sits in a large aperture at 6 o’clock, which occupies most of the space below the centre and the dial’s edge, with a precisely diamond-cut chamfer that frames the opening. A 4N rose-gold-plated tourbillon bridge provides a bright contrast and ties the movement visually to the dial.

Titoni’s new Luxe Tourbillon is powered by Calibre T1000, a hand-wound tourbillon movement. As mentioned, it was developed by Olivier Mory and shares the same basic movement architecture as other brands, but has been specifically designed (specific bridges) and finished for Titoni. The calibre runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers more than 100 hours of power reserve. Each movement is regulated in six positions, with Titoni targeting an average accuracy of 0 to +8 seconds per day. The finishing follows the contemporary character of the watch, with an anthracite Anthradec coating, vertically brushed surfaces and polished edges, and gold-coloured contrasting details. The ratchet wheel is engraved with the Tourbillon and Swiss Made mentions.

The Titoni Luxe Tourbillon is worn on a black matte FKM rubber strap closed with a single-fold titanium clasp, with a DLC-coated cover and push-buttons. The Luxe Tourbillon, which combines the complication with a full-ceramic case, is competitively priced at CHF 11,900 excluding VAT.
