NBA Star Damian Lillard Teams Up With Tissot For a PRX Special Edition
This signature timepiece tells more than time… It tells a whole story.
Tissot has just released a new version of its successful sporty-chic watch, the PRX, which resembles last year’s gold PVD-coated PRX Powermatic 80 with its bold design and colour scheme. However, what sets this edition apart is the intricate details that weave a narrative reflecting Damian Lillard’s journey and character. One of NBA’s most talented players, Lillard was already one of Tissot’s ambassadors but now pushes the envelope further by creating his personal watch, mixing sports and music elements, two topics dear to the man. Here’s the new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition, a bold 40mm PVD gold model with automatic movement.
If you’re a fan of basketball or rap music (or both), you’re likely familiar with the name Damian Lillard. Damian Lamonte Ollie Lillard Sr. is an American professional basketball player who was drafted to play for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2012 and switched to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023. Renowned for his ability to perform exceptionally well under pressure – earning him the nickname “Dame Time” – Lillard is also a hip-hop artist and rapper under the moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A. He has released four studio albums and established his record label, Front Page Music.
In the 2021 animated sports comedy Space Jam: A New Legacy, Lillard lent his voice to Chronos, a gold robotic member of the Goon Squad and an avatar of Lillard himself who can manipulate time. The character was inspired by Lillard’s famous nickname, Dame Time.
Given his compelling nickname and multifaceted talents, it was only natural for Lillard to collaborate with a watch company. The new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition is a watch born from the “unmistakable synergy between the Swiss brand’s story and Damian’s values.” Let’s take a first look at this special timepiece.
Fundamentally, the new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard does closely resemble last year’s fully PVD gold-coated PRX Powermatic 80. The 40mm case has a height of 10.9mm and features vertically brushed surfaces, polished angles on the sides, and a sleek, polished bezel that frames a sapphire crystal; the engraved crown is at 3 o’clock – all identical to the classic editions of the PRX Powermatic 80. Despite the similarities, the PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition is infused with a subtle narrative about the renowned athlete and musician.
The black dial featuring Super-LumiNova treated baton indices and hands is embossed with a zero – or rather, an O. This subtle detail is a nod to Lillard’s official stance, as he doesn’t wear the No. 0 on the court, but the letter O in honour of his birth in Oakland, his college career in Ogden, and his life in Oregon. The central seconds hand showcases Lillard’s monogram as a counterweight, while the flange sports the inscriptions DAME and TIME between the 10-11 and 1-2 markers. The bottom part of the flange proudly displays DDKK, representing family – Damian himself and children Damian Jr. and twins Kali and Kalii, born to Kay’La Hanson, his longtime girlfriend and wife since 2021 (not mentioned, the couple filed for divorce in 2023). Another abbreviation, YKWTII, between the 7 and 8, stands for “You Know What Time It Is” – an apparent reference to Dame Time, the crucial moments when Lillard steps up to make clutch hits and secure victories.
Flip the watch over, and the signed caseback unveils the movement through a mineral glass adorned with an image of the player. The Powermatic 80 calibre, an upgraded ETA 2824, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations/hour and boasts a comfortable 80-hour power reserve. Additionally, it features a Nivachron anti-magnetic hairspring for enhanced reliability.
The PVD gold-coated single-link integrated steel bracelet showcases brushed surfaces and is secured with a triple-blade folding clasp equipped with quick-release spring bars. This feature allows for easy swapping with a leather or rubber strap. Now available and not limited in quantity, the new Tissot PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition is priced at CHF 730 – “to bring top-notch Swiss craftsmanship to every wrist, not just the privileged few,” to quote Damian Lillard himself.

Like the front view but hate the back. Is that really necessary?
You obviously don’t realize it, but he plays for the bucks
Thank you for pointing that out to us, and the article has been updated accordingly.
The subtle little things that make this a collaboration are so small on the front , they may as well have left them off. As for the back, well you don’t see that when it’s on your wrist.
