Studio Underd0g and Time+Tide Hand Delivered, Again, with a new Duo of Pizza-Themed Watches
From April Fool’s prank to horological comfort food, here’s to the hungry ones.
Whatever reasons exist for creating a watch, be it heritage, technical or design-led necessity, the Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Hand Delivered Pizza Duo exists for a much rarer, if not unique, reason: because a joke went too far. What began as an April Fool’s prank in 2023, a pizza-themed Studio Underd0g teased by Time+Tide, unexpectedly caused thousands of clicks, hundreds of registrations and, perhaps most importantly, genuine disappointment when the watch turned out not to exist. That reaction made one thing clear: people wanted to have it.
So today, the pizza watch is real. Even better, it arrives in two new flavours as the Pizza Party 2.0: the Burnt Pepperoni is joined by a purist-friendly Classic Cheese. Both are part of the Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Hand Delivered collaboration, a deliberately unserious chronograph that nonetheless takes its watchmaking seriously.
The foundation is a familiar Studio Underd0g design. The stainless-steel case (with PVD-coating for the Burnt Pepperoni variant) measures 38.5mm in diameter, and 12.9mm thick (double-domed crust included, 10.1mm without), with a 44.5mm lug-to-lug, so you get vintage chronograph proportions and modern wearability. Brushed surfaces dominate, accented by polished details on the bezel and rectangular chronograph pushers. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a screw-down sapphire caseback puts the chronograph movement on display. Water resistance is 50m, but keep your watch away from the pizza oven heat.
The dials are where the collaboration gets truly humorous. The Burnt Pepperoni dial features a rich gradient shifting from deep red through burnt orange to a lighter edge, with “toppings” we recognise from the earlier Pepperoni edition: sausage, mushrooms, and basil. The Classic Cheese takes a “more restrained” approach (though it seems to have spent a little more time than necessary in the oven), offering rich yellow and golden tones of melted cheese that evoke a baked margherita with minimal fuss. And that one is “missing” a slice at 3 o’clock.
Despite the playful concept, the execution is anything but sloppy, as a solid slice NYC-style should be. The gradient work is excellent, the layout remains legible, and the subtle segmentation of the dial recalls pizza slices. Black printing for the tachymeter and minute track provides contrast, while the small seconds and chronograph registers remain clean and functional.
Inside beats the Seagull ST-1901B, a hand-wound, column-wheel chronograph movement based on the historic Venus 175 architecture. This Chinese-made movement remains one of the most mechanically engaging chronograph calibres available at this price level, and Studio Underd0g’s continued access to this calibre is notable, especially given recent supply constraints affecting smaller brands. The Seagull ST-1901 provides a 50-hour power reserve, and the mechanism is visible through the caseback.
The Burnt Pepperoni is delivered on a PVD-coated Milanese mesh bracelet or a black leather strap, while the Classic Cheese gets an Epsom calfskin strap, produced by The Strap Tailor.
The Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide pizza watches will be served first at the NYC Launch Party on February 26th and the Melbourne Launch Party on March 5th, followed by British Watchmakers’ Day on March 7th. Then, the watches will be available from Time + Tide Studios. Price is set at USD 825 / GBP 625 / AUD 1,400 for the Classic Cheese, the Burnt Pepperoni is a slightly more expensive menu item, costing USD 925 / GBP 700 / AUD 1,550.

Sigh, think they need a change.
