The New Pink-Themed Junghans Meister Damen and Meister Fein Kleine Automatics
Two compact, slim, well-designed watches for women.
During the 20th century, Junghans recruited some of the best designers to perpetuate the rational, understated German aesthetic that informs the brand’s products. Anton Ziegler, in charge of design from 1930 to 1960, understood the importance of proportion and balance on a dial and the elegance of a slim case, characteristics that have defined the Meister collection since the 1930s. Two ladies’ models join the Meister collection with petite, slim cases and feminine colours.
Meister Damen Automatic
This Meister Damen has a polished stainless steel case with a compact 33mm diameter and a slim height of 9.8mm. The thin-walled case with barely a trace of bezel leaves plenty of room for the domed dial. The matte silver-plated dial has a sunray-brushed finish, and the bamboo leaves are printed in a light pink colour. The slim, light-grey elongated indices are combined with slightly thicker indices at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock, picked out in pink. The diamond-cut dauphine hands compound the elegant appeal of the watch.
The inscription Junghans, printed in pink, is placed vertically at 6 o’clock. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre J840.1, which has a power reserve of 38 hours. The brand name appears in an unusual position at 6 o’clock and is printed vertically. Matching the delicate pink tones of the dial, the pink ostrich leather strap features a quick-release system. The price is set at EUR 1,440 incl. taxes.
