The introduction of the Speake Marin One&Two collection in 2016 was a landmark for the brand. An original take on classic Swiss watchmaking infused with a touch of British eccentricity, the collection marked the introduction of a new family of proprietary movements. Following the launch of the One&Two Openworked Hours & Minutes and One&Two Openworked Dual Time, Speake-Marin presented a 60-second Flying Tourbillon watch. In the frame of the 2020 digital edition of Watches & Wonders, the model is now released in two exclusive limited editions in titanium.

Just like the two previous One&Two Openworked models, the Flying Tourbillon stands out with its distinctive movement architecture with a symmetrical layout, angular skeletonized bridges and a focal point at 1.30. In this instance, it is a one-minute flying tourbillon whose cage comes in the emblematic shape of a watchmaking topping tool. Engraved with the same circular pattern, the barrel and the micro-rotor of the movement are positioned symmetrically on either side of the tourbillon. Last, the power reserve (72 hours / 3 days) is displayed at 7.30.

This structure is emphasized by the openworked black dial. The main plate has a micro-blasted black finish to bring additional tri-dimensionality and technicality. Typical from the brand, the hours and minutes on this One&Two Openworked Flying Tourbillon are indicated by “spade-and-whip” silvered hands with Super-LumiNova.

The automatic Calibre SMA05 is housed in the new version of the brand’s signature Picadilly case, which was slightly redesigned with Eric Giroud. In particular, the crown and lugs have been moved closer to the case. The opened caseback offers a view of the movement. Just like the previous versions of the One&Two, the Flying Tourbillon comes in 38mm or 42mm diameters. First available in pink gold, the watch is now released in grade 5 titanium, in two limited editions of 5 watches for each size.

The Speake Marin One&Two Openworked Flying Tourbillon Titanium is worn on a black alligator strap fitted with a titanium folding buckle. Price is set at CHF 54,500 and CHF 55,000 for the 38mm and 42mm version respectively. For more information, please visit www.speake-marin.com.
