Young French brand Serica has built a loyal following by incorporating vintage cues into clean, modern tool watches and addressing the details that many brands often ignore. After field-ready divers and GMTs put the Paris-based maker on the map, the Serica Parade Ref. 1174 shifted the conversation to the dress watch category – without abandoning practicality. The stadium case (a soft rectangle with straight flanks and rounded ends), combined with a time-only display and 100m water resistance, delivered a daily, do-anything dress watch. The line now expands with two permanent references featuring linen dials, a classic cross-weave texture familiar to collectors from mid-century Datejusts and select Omega models. Both preserve the Parade’s quiet elegance, while the texture adds character.

The case retains the same proportions and no-lug construction, at 35mm in width and 41mm in length, and 8.2mm thick. The case is compact, with a broad dial opening and a gentle curvature that hugs the wrist. The geometry does more than look good. Serica’s sandwich construction uses long through-bolts that run inside the bezel to compress gaskets, helping achieve 100m water-resistance in a slim automatic watch. The flanks are vertically brushed, the bezel is lightly polished, and the transitions are sharp. A non-screw-down crown is acceptable for a city-first watch that still tolerates real life.

On these new dials, the linen is a deep, crisply milled relief that plays with light and gives the minimalist layout welcome topography. The colours are restrained: Slate Blue, a cool grey-blue that shifts with ambient light, and Tobacco Green, a warm olive-brown with subtle green undertones. Twelve polished, tiny hand-applied drop-shaped hour markers are catching reflections, the domed sword hands are mirror-finished, and the handset is deliberately seconds-free: hours and minutes only, to slow the watch down and keep the composition calm.

The watch is powered by the Soprod M100, a thin automatic with a 28,800 vibrations/hour operating frequency and a 42-hour power reserve. The Côtes de Genève finishing is hidden behind a solid back to preserve the case’s rigidity and water-resistance.

The new Parade Linen is worn on an alligator-embossed calf strap that tapers from 18mm to 14mm, secured by the pin-buckle whose outline echoes the stadium bezel. Genuine alligator options are available, and the flat case sides make strap pairing unusually versatile; suede, shell cordovan or a slim mesh all work without fighting the shape.

Available for orders now from Serica’s website, with deliveries expected mid-November 2025, these new Serica Parade Ref. 1174 with linen dials are priced at EUR 1,490 incl. taxes.
