With Watches and Wonders now open, all eyes are on Rolex’s latest novelties. Next to the much expected Land-Dweller, the crown also introduced a slew of new dials including a turquoise blue lacquer dial punctuated by bright black counters for the yellow gold Daytona. If this is not a major novelty from a technical / innovation perspective, just like any new Rolex Daytona dial or reference, it will surely grab some serious attention.

The new reference retains the signature specs of the yellow gold Daytona, starting by a 40mm case fitted with a black Cerachrom monobloc bezel with tachymetric scale. Water resistant to 100m, it has a screw-down crown and screwed pushers. The novelty lies in its striking new dial and the new, bold combination of colours and materials. The brand describes it as a turquoise and black lacquer dial but Tiffany blue immediately came to our minds when discovering the press pictures. It fearures black, snailed counters, 18k gold applique hour markers and hands with a Chromalight display.

There are no surprises under the hood – this new Daytona is powered by the Rolex 4131, the updated version of the brand’s 4130 vertical clutch-column wheel chronograph. Introduced in 2023, it now features the patented Chronergy escapement, a blue Parachrom hairspring while retaining the 4Hz frequency and 72h power reserve of the previous generation.If it is hidden behing a solid fluted case back, it is decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève and features a cut-out oscillating weight.

The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona turquoise blue lacquer is presented on a black Oysterflex strap with a yellow gold folding clasp fitted with a glidelock extension. It retails for EUR 37,400 or CHF 34,700. For more details, please visit www.rolex.com
