The New Piaget Andy Warhol Camouflage, A Dial Made of Art
Warhol's 1986 camouflage self-portraits now on the dial of a Piaget.
After the powerful yet stylish Piaget Andy Warhol Clou de Paris and last year’s colourful Collage edition, Piaget once again teams up with the Andy Warhol Foundation and turns to its expertise in ornamental stone dials. The new Andy Warhol Camouflage limited series is inspired by the American artist’s camouflage self-portraits from 1986, bringing their colourful abstraction to the dial in a composition of ornamental stones and gold.

Piaget is known for its appreciation of colour, unconventional materials, and watches that make a statement. So is Warhol, who owned seven Piaget timepieces, including the cushion-shaped reference 15102, designed by Jean-Claude Gueit and produced between 1972 and 1977. The artist acquired this 45mm gadrooned creation in 1973, and it subsequently became known as the Black Tie. In 2024, in agreement with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Piaget officially renamed the model the Andy Warhol Watch. The Andy Warhol Clou de Paris was presented the same year, and in 2025, the Piaget Andy Warhol Collage followed, featuring an arrangement of onyx, yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal and green chrysoprase. The new Camouflage keeps the same case and movement but offers a different expression.
Warhol created his camouflage self-portraits in 1986. Beyond the graphic impact, these works explored the duality of fame, concealing and revealing the artist’s face; a play of disguise and identity. For this new watch, Piaget reinterprets the pattern with ornamental stones and gold craftsmanship. The dial combines two contrasting blue minerals: deeper-toned sodalite and brighter turquoise. These are also pieces of satin-finished yellow gold and polished rose gold, bringing different textures and reflections to the camouflage pattern, with a total of 27 pieces of material used.
Unlike a flat arrangement of colours, the combination of stone and metal creates a three-dimensional effect, with changes in surface finish adding interesting quality to the composition. Dauphine-style hands indicate the hours and minutes, leaving the stone composition undisturbed, featuring a discreet Swiss-Made designation at 6 o’clock and a logo above centre.
Surrounding the elaborate dial is the familiar cushion-shaped case, crafted here in 18-carat white gold with a rhodium finish. The 45mm by 8.08mm case retains the proportions and the distinctive silhouette of the Andy Warhol series, with its recessed crown and stepped gadroons. The solid caseback is engraved with Warhol’s signature and its limited series number. Water resistance is 30m.
For its movement, the watch retains Piaget’s in-house self-winding calibre 501P1, the same movement used in previous editions of the collection. Using the ultra-thin 430P as a base and adapted for automatic winding, it measures 3.63mm thick. The calibre operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour and delivers a 40-hour power reserve.
The Piaget Andy Warhol Camouflage is worn on a blue alligator leather strap, closed with a pin buckle. It is limited to 86 pieces, recalling the year Warhol created his self-portraits. The price is CHF 74,000. More information at piaget.com.
