New Vintage-Styled Editions of the Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme
The tried-and-tested tool watch formula reinterpreted with a distinct character, one leaning into vintage charm, the other into outdoor adventure.

Alpina has steadily carved out a niche for robust sports watches that balance land and sea credentials, and the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic is a good example of this dual spirit. Introduced last year in a compact 39mm Extreme cushion-shaped case with 300m water resistance, it was already a natural fusion of the Alpiner’s rugged architecture and the Seastrong’s tool-watch spirit. For Geneva Watch Days 2025, the collection welcomes two new variations, one with vintage flair, the other with a more tactical outdoor spirit.
The 39mm by 40.5mm cushion-shaped stainless steel case gives the Seastrong Diver Extreme its distinctive look. With a height of 12.65mm, it offers comfortable proportions. Surfaces are brushed with dynamic polished bevels, giving the watch a sporty but refined finish. A matte black ceramic unidirectional bezel frames the dial, with deep notches for easy handling. The screw-down crown and solid engraved caseback ensure water-resistance to 300 metres. The crown’s robust grip pattern, together with crown guards on the right and a protective bumper on the left, underscores the Extreme’s tool-watch design.
On the dial, both new editions share Alpina’s oversized triangular 12 o’clock marker, and a date at 6 o’clock, accompanied by a luminous segment for visibility in dark diving conditions. The first model features a black sandblasted dial where all applied indices, hands, and even the counterweight of the seconds hand are filled with “old radium” Super-LumiNova. This faux-patina lume brings vintage warmth and flavour, contrasting against the black background. The second edition introduces a grain-textured khaki dial, with the same lume treatment but a completely different spirit, more tactical, evoking rugged outdoor expeditions as much as underwater missions. Both dials are stripped of excess decoration, ensuring clarity and legibility remain the priority.
Power comes from the automatic AL-525 calibre (Sellita SW200 base), running at 28,800 vibrations/hour with a 38-hour power reserve. Each watch is fitted with a textured black rubber strap and a folding clasp. The price is EUR 1,995 or CHF 1,995.

These guys need to start posting their accuracy tolerances. While it’s fair looking piece, using a baseline movement without specs doesn’t really help them, especially given the meager power reserve.
