With its signature single-hand display, MeisterSinger has created a certain philosophy of time, where a fine needle indicates the time almost to the minute, but without any of the frenetic minute and second hands of conventional watches. This almost poetical display encourages a relaxed approach to time in our fast-moving world. With the latest creation, the Pangaea Aventurine, the single-hand watch specialist brings the beauty of the starry sky to the wrist, thanks to a “Goldfluss” aventurine dial.

Before moving to the new part of this watch, its dial, let’s quickly look back at the known technical base, the Pangaea automatic. A familiar name in the brand’s collection, the company introduced the Pangaea Day Date back in 2013. Then, in 2022, MeisterSinger surprised with the limited edition Pangaea 365, a time-only version with a clean, minimalist design that radiated a captivating vintage feel. And in 2023, the time-only Pangaea became part of the permanent collection. It is housed in a 40mm fully polished stainless steel case, featuring a sizeable fluted onion and a slim bezel, for an uncluttered view of the dial through a domed sapphire crystal. Power comes from a simple yet solid and easy-to-service Sellita SW200, an alternative to the ETA 2824, wound by a personalised rotor.

The main highlight of this version is the dial, made from aventurine glass, a material also known as Goldfluss or Gold stone. Avventurina, in Italian, is a type of glass invented on the Venetian island of Murano in the 17th century. It’s not to be confused with the aventurine mineral, a type of quartz with a shimmering effect (often green), which was discovered after aventurine glass and named identically, not the other way around. The result is a deep blue dial with a glossy effect and hundreds of small metallic inclusions. Then, the dial receives historical touches, such as gold-colored, multi-printed numerals, vintage typography and, instead of the usual 5-minute line markers, fine dots are used to signify the passage of time. Finally, a classic white needle-shaped hand indicates the time – all of that being reminiscent of watches from the 365 series.

Worn on a cognac leather strap, the MeisterSinger Pangaea Aventurine joins the brand’s permanent collection and is priced at EUR 2,990. For more details, consult MeisterSinger.com.

  1. Hey guys, this dial is absolutely not made of Natural aventurine. This is aventurine glass and is a man made crystal. Natural aventurine has nowhere near this evenly distributed shimmer.

  2. Interesting comment. Would the manufacturer respond to this please?

  3. @Cheng Yam San – we have just sent the question to Meistersinger and we’ll update the article (or not, depending on the answer) once we have heard from them.

  4. @Yoël Serrano Smith @Cheng Yam San – we have the confirmation from the brand that the dial is indeed made of aventurine glass (aka Goldfluss) as it was suspected. The article has been updated accordingly.
