Recent financial statements by industry institutions and groups have been on the positive side, with what seems to be a comeback of growth, after a couple of rather difficult years for the watch industry. Indeed, Richemont reported sales up by 20% for its first quarter of 2026, the Swatch Group indicated sales up 8.5% in its half-year report 2026, and the FHS reported a strong increase in exports in its June 2026 market analysis (even though the latter should be taken with care, as exports are rather sensitive data). It is now time for LVMH, the French luxury giant active in pretty much all segments of the market, to release its sales figures for the first half of 2026. And the numbers are on the positive side; nevertheless, with the impact of the conflict in the Middle East.

LVMH, owner of brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, several wine and spirits maisons, is also fairly active in the field of watches and jewellery, as the owner of Bulgari, Hublot, Zenith, TAG Heuer, or Tiffany, to name the most important ones. Despite a geopolitical and economic environment that remained disrupted, amplified by the conflict in the Middle East, the group recorded revenue of EUR 38.6 billion in the first half of 2026, with organic revenue growth for the group of 3% (4% excluding the impact of the conflict in the Middle East). In particular, “the United States saw growth accelerate and had a good first half of the year. Asia (excluding Japan) saw strong growth, confirming the improvement in trends observed starting in the second half of 2025. Japan posted growth for the half-year period, and Europe showed good resilience.” Growth is reported to have amplified over the second quarter of the year.

As for our matter here at MONOCHROME, the Watches & Jewellery division reported sales of EUR 5,225 million for the first half of 2026, a 9% organic increase over the same period in 2025. Additionally, the group reports an 11% increase in sales for the second quarter of the year, compared to the same period in 2025. This makes the Watches & Jewellery division the best-performing of all the group’s activities in 2026 so far. The same trend is visible for the profit from recurring operations, up by 9%.
