The Ultra-Cool Monolithic Konzept Zeit Watch Stand
A pure and simple display to admire your favourite watch when it's not on your wrist.
We’ve all had the experience of putting down our watch a little too carelessly, and accidentally scratching it on something sharp, or even worse, knocking it off and seeing it fly across the room in Hollywood-esque slow-motion while screaming “NOOOOooooo!!!” at the top of your lungs. It’s happened to me, and I know it has happened to a lot of you. A good way to prevent that, whether you’re going to sleep and want to keep your most precious watch close, or merely want to take it off when working to prevent desk-dive scratches, is a watch stand. The most common ones do the job just fine, but are often uninspired and a dime a dozen in design. But if you want something that really stands out in simplicity and in looks, the soon-to-be-released Konzept Zeit watch stand is perfect for you!
Konzept Zeit is a young German design company founded by Michael Koczynski, focused on how a watch is perceived when not worn and at rest. With a background in design and years of experience in the consumer goods industry, his addiction to beautifully simple products shaped what you see here: the Konzept Zeit watch stand, the company’s first product.
The monolithic structure is designed to keep your watch safe and composed, propping it upright for all to see. The simple lines keep your watch in focus, and the added benefit is that you can still read the time at a glance if needed. You don’t have to awkwardly tilt your head to see you’re running late for your next meeting! The branding is kept to a minimum, so as not to distract from the object itself or the watch that’s taking a breather.
Made with a close friend and long-term partner in Asia, the base is CNC machined from a solid block of aluminium, with final refinements and assembly done in Berlin to ensure the best possible fit and finish. The two polished aluminium arm pieces meet in the middle, with a compressible bright-orange vulcanised rubber sphere. Designed to adapt to the size of your watch, the sphere can accommodate anything from an A. Lange & Söhne 1815 34mm, to an IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar. The square base measures 11cm by 11cm and stands 12cm tall, with a total weight of approximately 2 kg. So it’s fair to say this is a sturdy one!
The Konzept Zeit watch stand is the first in a series of products that share this modular concept, with additional products already in the pipeline. It will go on sale in March 2026, with a retail price of EUR 1,000. A hefty price for sure, but it is hands-down one of the best-looking and stand-out watch stands we’ve seen in a very long time!
