Jaquet Droz is supporting Only Watch, the biennial fundraiser for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, for the 8th consecutive time. The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Skelet-One for the 2019 edition is a unique version reinterpreted with striking red accents. Only Watch is organized by Luc Pettavino and the Monegasque Association Against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Introduced in 2018, the Skelet-One is a resolutely modern take on the brand’s emblematic Grande Seconde that reveals its inner workings in full transparency. For this one-of-a-kind edition, the 41.5mm case is fashioned out of black ceramic while the rail tracks and the hands have all been reinterpreted in red.
The Jaquet Droz Skelet-One Red is powered by the self-winding JD2663 Q3 calibre. The architecture of this modern skeletonized movement revolves around the brand’s signature 8 display. The hour and minute indication is off-centred and the ‘grande seconde’ sweeps at 6 o’clock on a sapphire disc. The openwork structure of the movement, the transparent caseback and skeletonized white gold rotor provide an unimpeded view of the mechanism from all angles.
The JD2663 Q3 calibre features a silicon balance spring and silicon pallet horns. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour for a 68-hour power reserve on two barrels. There is no casing ring so the movement fits seamlessly with the contour of the case.
The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Skelet-One for Only Watch is presented on a matching red textile strap secured with a steel/ceramic folding buckle. For more information, please www.jaquetdroz.com
