The Rolex 1908 Perpetual on a New Settimo Bracelet in Yellow Gold

With the discontinuation of Cellini collection, Rolex introduced the Perpetual 1908 series in 2023, blending classic aesthetics with cutting-edge watchmaking technology. Until now, these models powered by the Rolex calibre 7140 were exclusively available on leather straps. This year, Rolex expands the collection with a yellow gold version, now paired with the newly designed Settimo bracelet.

The 39mm yellow gold case retains the sleek proportions of its predecessors, measuring 9.5mm thick, with a 50m water resistance. The domed and fluted bezel and smoothly contoured lugs featuring chamfered edges enhance the watch’s elegant profile. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the fluted and transparent caseback provides a view of the movement.

The matte white dial with a fine satin finish remains unchanged, featuring a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock and applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. Like the baton hour markers, the numerals are crafted in yellow gold and faceted before being applied. The double-edged sword-shaped minute hand and the distinctive open-circle hour hand in yellow gold maintain the collection’s refined aesthetic.

The 1908 is powered by the Rolex calibre 7140, a Superlative Chronometer-certified automatic movement developed and manufactured in-house. It features Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement and Syloxi silicon hairspring, ensuring exceptional precision. The oscillator, mounted on high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, enhances shock resistance, and the openworked Perpetual rotor, crafted from 18k yellow gold, improves winding efficiency. Thanks to its optimized escapement and barrel architecture, the movement delivers a 66-hour power reserve.

For the first time, the 1908 is available on the newly introduced Settimo bracelet, crafted entirely from yellow gold. The bracelet is engineered for seamless comfort, it is composed of seven small, contoured links, each polished on every surface. Its attachment system integrates flawlessly with the middle case, ensuring a secure and elegant fit. The bracelet is finished with a concealed folding Crownclasp, adding to its refined appeal.
