The New Yema Superman Gilt CMM.10 Collection
Following the Superman Slim, Yema is back with another, upgraded iteration of its emblematic dive watch.
Yema, a French watchmaking brand based in Morteau, in the Jura region near the Swiss border, continues to improve its historic Superman diving collection, much to the delight of those familiar with the brand and those only beginning to discover its offer. Following the recent introduction of the Superman Slim, equipped with a micro-rotor calibre CMM.20, designed and developed in France by Yema, the company has just revealed the new Superman Gilt CMM.10 series, a dive-capable model with a versatile look and a more classic manufacture automatic movement. Here’s what we know.
The new Yema Superman Gilt is released in 39mm or 41mm stainless steel cases that maintain the emblematic Superman series look yet have been refined and now come with a more slender profile – 10.7mm in height without the crystal – and feature redesigned lugs, now curved, for comfort. The vertically brushed Superman Gilt case boasts polished bevels for a touch of finesse; it is equipped with a unidirectional dive bezel with a glossy sapphire insert – black, green or blue, depending on the reference, and for this series, it comes with the brand’s classic bezel lock. The 0 to 60 bezel graduation includes an applied luminescent triangle marker at 12 o’clock. The case construction with a screw-down crown, a 2.2mm double-domed sapphire crystal over the dial and a sapphire crystal screwed caseback provide the watch with a commendable 300m water-resistance.
The Yema Superman Gilt offers a choice of four dial colours – black, silver, green or dark blue, and every dial features a semi-gloss sunray brushed finish and applied hour indices with a gilt outline – large, inverted triangle at 12 o’clock, prominent rectangular-shaped at 3, 6 and 9 and dots at other positions, all filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova. The same finish is extended to the wide hour and minutes hands and the central seconds hand with a lolly-pop tip. Apart from the Yema Superman text and logo below 12 and balancing inscriptions above the 6 o’clock index, note the proud Manufacture Française at the bottom of the dial, attesting to the predominantly French origin of components, proprietary designs and assembly at the Yema’s workshops in Morteau.
Calibre Manufacture Morteau 10 (CMM.10) is the movement chosen to power the new Superman Gilt models, it is the same calibre that made its debut last year inside the Superman Bronze. CMM.10 was designed and developed by Yema in collaboration with Olivier Mory and produced by Yema with components made by Yema or sourced from Swiss and French suppliers within a 72km range from the manufacture. It’s a modern-architecture movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour, and it’s regulated to a chronometric precision of -3/+5 seconds per day. The ball-bearing, bidirectional, openworked rotor with gunmetal finish winds the Nivaflex spring of the large barrel, which stores 70 hours of power reserve. The caseback reveals the movement’s galvanic-treated bridges and plates, which were micro-blasted before application.
The new Yema Superman Gilt is paired with the brand’s signature scales bracelet, a thinner version to match the refined case. It comes with a double-security folding clasp with a dive extension. All references, regardless of the case diameter, are priced at EUR 1,790 and are available for delivery.

Well executed and well priced but sapphire glare looks problematic and pointy crown guards prevent me from buying a new Yema superman.
