The New Mido Commander Gradient in Green

A brightly-coloured dial enters the Commander Gradient sub-collection.

Mido, one of the accessible brands of the Swatch Group, introduced the Gradient series to its Commander collection a few years ago, showcasing semi-transparent dégradé dials that reveal much of the movement beneath. Since then, the lineup has expanded with versions now available in black and blue, in stainless steel uncoated or with black PVD, and a yellow gold-tone PVD steel bracelet model. Now, as a nod to the near arrival of spring, Mido unveils the latest addition to the series – the Commander Gradient with a green dial, bringing a fresh and vibrant colour to the collection.

The latest Mido Commander Gradient retains the series’ design elements. Housed in a three-part stainless steel case, it measures 40mm in diameter and 10.84mm thick, offering 50m of water resistance. A slender bezel, faceted and domed sapphire crystal, and a transparent caseback complete the look.

The acrylic dial features a green gradient effect, with polished applied indices enhanced by white Super-LumiNova. A date aperture at 3 o’clock highlights the current date, while the tinted glass subtly reveals the date disk beneath. The flat, diamond-cut, faceted hour and minute hands – also coated with white Super-LumiNova – ensure legibility, while a slim central hand marks the running seconds.

Powering the Commander Gradient is Swatch Group’s Powermatic 80 movement, the Elaboré-grade Caliber 80 (ETA C07.611), an upgraded version of the ETA 2824. With a refined kinetic chain and a reduced frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it delivers an 80-hour power reserve. The timepiece is completed by an integrated-style satin-finished stainless steel bracelet, secured with a folding clasp and equipped with lug bars for easy changes.

The price of this new green Mido Commander Gradient is EUR 1,100. For more information, visit midowatches.com.
