The MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue

For 25 years, MeisterSinger’s signature single-hand watches encouraged a more relaxed perception of time, focusing on the broader flow of the day rather than its smallest divisions. Earlier this year, the German brand presented the Edition Unitas 1Z, a limited anniversary model that revived the original 2004 Edition 1Z, its first watch to feature a genuine enamel dial. With the new Edition Unitas 1Z Blue, MeisterSinger introduces the brand’s first coloured enamel dial while retaining everything that made the anniversary edition so appealing.

The Edition Unitas 1Z Blue is housed in the same 40mm stainless steel case developed specifically for this collection. Combining brushed case sides with polished bezel and lugs, the case has classical proportions that allow the movement to occupy virtually the entire interior. A generously sized fluted crown, signed with MeisterSinger’s fermata emblem, reinforces the vintage-inspired character. Sapphire crystals on both sides reveal the dial and movement. The exhibition caseback is individually numbered, and the water resistance is 50m.

The earlier white enamel edition paid tribute to the original 2004 model; now this new edition explores fresh territory as the first MeisterSinger to use coloured enamel. Crafted using traditional grand feu techniques, finely ground enamel powder is applied to a copper base and fired repeatedly at temperatures approaching 800°C.

The resulting light blue dial has remarkable depth and luminosity, featuring black hour numerals, medium-blue accents to mark 30-minute intervals and elapsed minutes on the inner scale, with discreet touches of red. As with other MeisterSinger models, the dial is organised around the brand’s signature single-hand display, with double-digit hour numerals and a peripheral minute track allowing time to be read to within approximately five minutes. A long, heat-blued steel hand completes the display.

The watch is powered by the manually wound ETA/Unitas 6497. Originally designed as a pocket watch movement, its generous dimensions make it particularly well-suited to this 40mm case. For the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue, the movement receives decorative upgrades, including Geneva stripes, blued screws and a traditional swan-neck fine-adjustment regulator. Operating at 21,600 vibrations/hour, it provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.

The watch is worn on a mahogany calfskin leather strap embossed with a crocodile pattern, closed with a double-folding clasp. Limited to just 25 pieces, the MeisterSinger Edition Unitas 1Z Blue will be available from September 2026 and is priced at EUR 6,990.
