A watch like this is not one for doing things halfway. The Jacob & Co. Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut is exactly what the name suggests. It is a large watch fully set with diamonds and is hard to ignore once it is on the wrist. Since its debut in 2015, the Billionaire line has taken this idea to extremes, from the Billionaire III to high-carat pieces like the Billionaire Timeless Treasure. Now, the latest Billionaire offers a dual flying tourbillon plus nearly 300 diamonds totalling around 79 carats, and it also introduces a new in-house diamond cut.

What stands out once you get past the sheer amount of diamonds is that they do not all behave the same way. The stones have a slightly different look, especially in how they catch light hitting the surface. That comes down to what Jacob & Co. calls the Angel Cut, a new diamond cut introduced with this watch (see below). It uses 37 facets, while keeping the stones in their rectangular shape. This helps the light spread more evenly across the surface, which matters on a watch like this, where not every stone gets the same amount of light.

Jacob & Co. presents the Angel Cut as a more balanced approach. Some diamond cuts are designed to maximise sparkle but tend to use more material in the process, while others keep more of the stone but can look a bit flat. The aim here is to sit somewhere in between, keeping the shape and size of the stone while still improving how it looks.

Even with that much going on, the layout stays organised. The 54mm by 41mm case in 18k white gold is fully set with diamonds. Two openings at 12 and 6 o’clock reveal the flying tourbillons, giving the dial a symmetrical layout. Inside is the hand-wound JCAM50 calibre running at 3Hz. It drives the hours and minutes while powering two flying one-minute tourbillons, with a power reserve of around 72 hours.

The watch is paired with a blue alligator leather strap and a diamond-set white gold clasp, continuing the same approach across the entire piece. Limited to 18 pieces, the Jacob & Co. Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut is priced at USD 3.4 million. The release also marks the brand’s 40th anniversary, with the Angel Cut named after Angela, the wife of founder Jacob Arabo, and its 37 facets referencing their years of marriage.
