With its unusual vision combining art, mechanical watchmaking and fluid technology, HYT creates watches like no other, portraying time with liquids flowing through an ultra-fine capillary. Presented last fall, the HYT H5 is a key evolutionary step for the brand. Based on three-dimensionality and transparency, its intriguing design language and functionality rely on an innovative, architectural movement: the calibre 501. The model is now released in a new limited edition with red fluidic hours.
Following the inaugural editions or the blue fluidic hour edition, HYT now comes with a new limited run of H5 watches portraying time with red fluidic hours. Its vibrant red liquid is paired with a predominantly anthracite, silver and black colour scheme of the DLC-coated case and dial. An extra touch of vitality is brought by white luminescent details. A red perforated rubber strap adds the finishing touch.
Presented last fall, H5 has been a major evolutionary step for the brand. It is incarnated by a new proprietary movement, the calibre 501. Its main technical innovation lies in an intricately shaped cam to synchronize the hour and minute indications with precision. Its 13 positions offer as many steps to index the two displays cohesively. A hand-wound movement, the calibre 501 ticks at 4Hz and comes with 65 hours of power reserve. Besides the fluidic hour indication, it displays the minutes at 12 o’clock and the seconds at 10 o’clock. The indicator at 2 o’clock allows you to figure out if the watch needs to be wound.
The H5 bold architecture is based on three-dimensionality and its stratified bridges and parts feature steps and sinuous lines, somehow reminiscent of ripples in the water. This fascinating movement is presented in a 48.88mm case and can be admired in full under an impressive sapphire dome and via the exhibition caseback. At the periphery, a neoralite flange made of cut-out vertical numerals offers a lateral view of time’s relentless progress.
