In the world of tennis, Novak Djokovic stands as a true icon, a powerful player with a winning mindset, boasting an unmatched 24 Grand Slam singles titles and a reputation as one of the greatest athletes in history. A Hublot ambassador since 2021, Djokovic has been seen sporting a variety of the brand’s timepieces, including the vibrant and eye-catching Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic. Today, Hublot introduces the blue-toned Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic in celebration of the synergy between the charismatic athlete and the brand, which also showcases Hublot’s mastery in developing innovative materials and solutions designed for peak performance.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic has a 42mm diameter and 14.5mm thick matte blue case and bezel crafted from a recycled composite. This composite combines an epoxy resin base reinforced with quartz powder and glass veil, infused with fragments from Djokovic’s 25 HEAD rackets and 32 Lacoste shirts – 17 dark blue and 15 light blue – used during his record-breaking 2023 season.

Prioritizing lightness, Hublot replaces traditional sapphire crystal with tempered Gorilla Glass, which is twice as light while offering superior damage resistance. Further reducing weight, the crown, pushers, display caseback, and other case components are made from aluminium, highlighting the high-performance design of the watch.

The openworked dial of the Hublot Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic features white luminescent indices, skeletonized hands, and a chronograph central seconds hand with a unique counterweight. Yellow accents on the chapter rings match the chronograph start pusher, reflecting the colour of tennis balls. Beneath the surface lies the self-winding Unico Manufacture chronograph movement, finished in blue PVD, operating at a rate of 28,800 vibrations/hour and offering a 72-hour power reserve.

Hublot uses anodized aluminium for movement components typically crafted in brass, achieving remarkable weight savings. The watch itself weighs only 49.5g when paired with an elastic strap, which is actually lighter than a tennis ball! This increases to a still very light 54g with Velcro, 65g on a tennis wristband, and 75g with a rubber strap. Limited to just 100 pieces, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic is priced at CHF 48,000 (EUR 54,900); a Lacoste sport wristband and a Lacoste polo signed by Novak Djokovic are included with the purchase.

  1. “Made in collaboration”

basically the only phrase now heard in watchmaking news.

  2. Also among the ingredients: unused surgical face masks, used handkerchiefs, prayer, gratitude, and a bit of water turned green via negative emotions.
