The New Hanhart Pioneer Flieger One NightBlue Limited Edition
This new Pioneer One watch will appeal to fashion-conscious pilots.
The Hanhart Pioneer collection was born in 2011 and focused on traditional pilot chronographs. Several models, inspired by historical pilot watches the company was famous for in the 1930s and 1950s, were released. Appealing to vintage Fliegeruhren fans, the core were the legendary 417 ES reissues and inspirations, well done and competitively priced, and some other chronograph-equipped watches. In 2018, however, Hanhart revealed the Pioneer One; still true to the aviation spirit with an attractive entry-level price, the Pioneer One was reduced to time-and-date functions only. Two years ago, a limited bronze edition of the Pioneer One, a time-only piece, thrilled watch enthusiasts. Now Hanhart adds another three-hand watch to the series with a dark midnight blue dial. Meet the new Pioneer Flieger One NightBlue Limited Edition.
The NightBlue edition is the same watch as the Pioneer One Bronze, only materials and colour schemes differ. The new watch’s 42mm stainless steel case and the characteristic fluted bezel are black PVD-coated to support the NightBlue dial with the historical logo. The continuously rotatable bezel in both directions has a red mark, which is distinctive of Hanhart watches. The big crown is decorated with an “H”, the same historical symbol you will find on the screwed-down solid caseback. The caseback is also engraved with a limitation number (Hanhart will produce 150 pieces of this variant). The watch is 12mm high with convex sapphire crystal and feels proportioned.
The dial provides the name of this Pioneer One edition; it is dark blue with white numerals, and the hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for readability in the dark. The dark blue dial serves the same purpose in the daytime, making the hour indices stand out, so you will know what time it is at a glance. The white and blue combination is aesthetically pleasing, the blue leather strap with a suede finish enhances this feeling, and the red cross stitching on the lugs makes the image of Pioneer Flieger One NightBlue complete.
This simple yet very charming interpretation of the design rules set by the 417 series functions with a Sellita SW200 automatic movement with 38 hours of power reserve. The watch is water-resistant to 100m. With a great degree of wearability and comfort, Hanhart customers report, this Pioneer Flieger One NightBlue will not disappoint. The earlier Pioneer One models with the date display started at EUR 940, while this Pioneer Flieger One NightBlue will set you back EUR 1,290.

Mucho dinero a pagar por PVD. El reloj es agradable pero el batazo lo hubiera sido en DLC.
Meh. It looks more like the A-11 field than a pilot watch. Ditch the 12, put the triangle with the two dots then call it a flieger A.
Another ho hum watch with a ho hum movement. The question is why no make your own movement?
