Bianchet Partners with Maserati MSG Racing & Launches Two Limited Flying Tourbillon Grande Date
An exclusive timepiece that offers the rare opportunity to dive into the world of Formula E racing.
In 2021, Bianchet debuted in the watch industry with the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork, establishing the brand’s design language and paving the way for future releases – like the 2023 Flying Tourbillon Grande Date. In 2023, Maserati returned to the world of open-wheel single-seater motorsport after a hiatus of 65 years. However, instead of the roar of combustion engines, the Monegasque Maserati MSG Racing team now competes in electric-powered Formula E. The recent announcement of the partnership between Maserati MSG Racing and Bianchet as the official timekeeping partner is now resulting in two limited edition watches.
Bianchet commemorates the new partnership with a themed edition based on the Flying Tourbillon Grande Date in tandem with Maserati MSG Racing. Introducing two limited editions of the Bianchet x Maserati MSG Racing Flying Tourbillon Grande Date, Bianchet offers one crafted from its exclusive high-density carbon composite infused with titanium powder, known as Titanium-Dust-High-Density Carbon, while the second edition combines titanium and carbon. Both editions feature blue rubber accents on the case and crown, paying homage to the Maserati team colour.
On the dial, the outermost flange showcases the minutes track with blue accents at 5-minute intervals, complemented by baton hour and minute hands adorned with matching blue accents. At 12 o’clock, where the Bianchet logo typically resides on regular editions, the Maserati trident logo and Maserati MSG Racing adorn the plaque, while Bianchet’s signature remains on the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, with a striking blue background highlighting the “B.”
Notably, the titanium skeleton flying tourbillon movement with a big date display is built to withstand the rigours of an active lifestyle. The watch has shock resistance up to 5000G and water resistance up to 100m; its lightweight yet robust construction and generous 90-hour power reserve make it a great companion for daily wear. Completing the package is a natural vulcanised rubber strap, available in blue or black, secured with a titanium folding clasp for ultimate comfort and convenience.
The limited editions of the Bianchet x Maserati MSG Racing Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B 1.618, comprising only 21 each, are priced at CHF 70,500 (taxes excluded). Owners of these exclusive timepieces will enjoy a one-of-a-kind opportunity to delve into the essence of the Formula E driver experience. This includes visiting Maserati MSG Racing’s headquarters in Monaco, where they can interact with the racing drivers and get the adrenaline rush of driving the team’s cutting-edge racing simulator.
