The Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer InVerto
The Central Impulse Chronometer movement fully exposed to the wearer.
With its superb movement and innovative escapement, the Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer (CIC) is a fascinating watch and technical development. 4 different variations of the CIC have been presented so far: two initial limited editions in white gold followed by rose gold and steel editions. The independent watchmaker has just dropped the first pictures of an evolution of the concept. It comes without a dial, with its impressive movement turned on itself and fully exposed. Meet the Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer InVerto.
The design of the Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer Inverto is based on the unique piece that was originally developed for Only Watch 2023. With the postponement of the 2023 edition, uncertainty surrounds the fundraiser. Still, Only Watch has often been the opportunity for brands to present and test concepts that later appear in their collections…
With the Inverto, besides its functional purpose, the Central Impulse Chronometer movement becomes a design element in its own right. The fascinating mechanism designed by the German independent watchmaker takes centre stage, especially with the presence of a prominently domed sapphire crystal that provides a breathtaking view of its intricacies. Its symmetrical architecture now clearly exposes its twin barrels and independent gear trains, each equipped with a 10-second remontoire. The large balance wheels and escapement rhythmically tick at 9 o’clock, enhancing the overall visual appeal.
If the Only Watch 2023 unique piece featured the fundraiser’s vivid colours, InVerto comes in a dark version with a black DLC treatment. Pretty cool to say the least. And something more in line with our taste here at MONOCHROME, as the dark aesthetics of the movement are paired with a matching case colour and alligator strap. At 44mm in diameter, the case is made of 904L steel coated with black DLC. The Lederer logo is transferred inside the domed sapphire crystal. Turning the watch over, the caseback shows two circles interlinked in a figure of 8 just like for the dial of the first CIC versions.
The Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer InVerto is released in a limited edition of 18 pieces and is now available for order. Its price is set at CHF 150,000. We’ll try to provide more information about the watch if we get a chance to get our hands on a prototype in the coming weeks.

No, I am not.
I do not block your content, which is pure Ads already.
I’m only blocking additional noise, of which there’s too much and too much exponentially increasing.
